No it wasn't, look at the game man. They don't covert on 4th and 8, we have about 35 seconds left and not only did we have the momentum but we were moving the ball at will on that D in the 4th and they couldn't have stopped us from getting the ball into Pickering's range and if he misses it, Ferentz knew that there was a better than an 80% chance they lose in OT and that is why he chose to gamble. They couldn't move the ball on our D in the 4th as the only managed up until that 4th and 8 conversion 46 Total Yards . If Kirk was confident about OT, he would've punted and took it into OT. Wow!
Sorry dude, not buyin what you're putting down as you are way off of the mark on this one. You also don't try it on one that just held your O to 46 total yards in the last 15 minutes of play either. He wanted at all cost to keep the ball out of our hands and took that gamble, which he won as we were closer to kicking a winning FG than OT.
Post game Ferentz said the last Stanley pass on 4th down was Stanley’s call at the line. He had the green light from the coaches to punt it or audible to pass if he saw a matchup he liked.
Because our defense is Charmin soft. He would punt against competent defenses.

- Very upset that we did not have a sellout. I now the fan base was upset by the last month...but really? ARGH!!!
- If this game had been in Lincoln...you guys win....and I am not looking forward to the game next year in Lincoln.
- Martinez should win Freshman of the year in the BIG and will be player of the year at some point before he leaves....Sucks for the rest of us in the west!!!!

Thanks. Under our previous "coaching staff" when you had us on the ropes at 28-13 with momentum we fold like a cheap tent and end up getting run out of the stadium by 30 or more. Got a long ways to go but glad those days are over.

Eichorst hire put this program back and was responsible for losing 3 games but it will pay dividends in the near future by giving Frost time to prove himself at UCF..

Your own coach said what I just said in his presser. It's right there, watch around 3:15 mark. Go argue with Frost then. He said if Iowa kicks that to go up 3 scores, in the 3rd quarter, or fake punt unsuccessful/punt that game is probably over. The momentum did a 180. He recognized this as well.
