Kyle,

How much have you seen Callie Levin play? I think I'm going to see her play this Friday.

Any idea who might be the next to commit?

I've seen Callie play with Solon a couple of times and a couple of times with All Iowa Attack. You're likely going to see her score more with Solon just given the talent difference between them and her AAU team. She is averaging nearly 20 ppg through eight games this year and Solon is 7-1.

As for the next possible commit, I have an article coming in the next couple of days talking about the 2024 class. There is a chance it is done at three commits.

I tend to agree with you that Iowa is probably done with 2024 class. The next big thing is which, if any, players are coming back for their "Covid" year?

Currently, one of Warnock, Davis, Martin and Marshall has to leave, unless someone enters the transfer portal. Davis is basically a lock to be back, so that means it would be down to the other three and one would have to leave.

Yeah heard Warnock and probably Marshall are leaving, the latter could always grad transfer. I think Martin will likely come back, Caitlin will seal the deal.

Watched Britt Prince for the first time a few weeks ago and she is the real deal. A lot of Caitlin in her game. Can score from anywhere. Her mom is her high school coach and the rumor here in Omaha is that Nebraska is going to try and hire her mom to get her.

Have heard whispers of this for a bit now as well. If I'm not mistaken, Britt's AAU teammate happens to be the daughter of the current Nebraska coach as well. Reading the tea leaves a bit and making a guess, she seems like a bit of shy kid who may be drawn to staying close to home.

Her offensive game hasn't evolved a ton over the last few years...she needs to develop a midrange as she can be game planned against to run her off 3s and meet her at the rim. Has gotten better on D in that she doesn't get the frustration fouls she used to. If she gets a better 12-15 foot jumper I think that will create some additional opportunities at the next level.

Friday night could turn into a 1-on-1 fest with her and Twedt. I saw game time was changed to 6:45 on Varsity Bound, so be aware of that.

Couldn't agree more, L12. I've seen Callie play a ton through the summer and a few high school games. Seems to settle for a deep three rather than get to the mid range off the bounce and pull up. I refer to this as the All Iowa Attack way. Shoot a 3 or get all the way to the rim and completely disregard the mid range.....and before anyone kills me, I have a daughter in the same program. Drives me absolutely crazy! She is a good passer, however, she doesn't have a ton of help.

Prior to the season starting I was told this was the last go round for Kate. Right now, if this were one of Blair's recruiting boards, I'd increase the percentage to 75% that Kate is back next year...

Kyle, ESPN has a top 25 2022-23 HS girls basketball rankings, with Waterloo West and Johnston in their top 25. I believe that Johnston has Jenica Lewis (2026), but what players does Waterloo West have that we should be paying attention to?

Not Kyle. West has two senior D-1 commits. The big one is Sahara Williams who is a top 25 player and headed to Oklahoma. Also have Halli Poock who is a Bradley commit. Don't know if there are any youngsters of interest there, but Williams is the big loss.

Williams is an absolute freak athlete who is turning herself into a very good basketball player as well. She is the kind of athlete that the Iowa women's team has been sorely missing for quite some time. She is the kind of athlete you see playing at Baylor, LSU, South Carolina, etc.

this is the kind of athlete I was hoping having Clark we would begin getting as well. Iowa is getting attention on a national scale we have not seen before.

I would complete your last sentence by adding: but, unfortunately, Iowa has yet be able to use that attention to upgrade the athleticism of Iowa’s roster/commitments.

Without Clark Iowa is a slightly above average team. She is reportedly making between 2-4 million a year and brings attention to the program, So how is it possible that Olivia Olson did not have the hawks in her final 10? I know there are numerous factors in recruiting, but not getting Williams or Ziebell is disappointing. With the addition of USC and UCLA in 2024 to the conference the only recruit, imo that is big ten worthy is
Heiden. Its clear, after playing the better programs in the country that Iowa lacks athletes that can defend and rebound. That being said, if the hawks could get Hardgrove and Addison Deal things could look brighter. I had high hopes for Prince and Guyton,, but why would they consider Iowa with the way the hawks are stockpiling small, non athletic players?
