It's amazing how often that happens and isn't called.
I know, the refs and the rules need to be clearer on what is On the LOS vs what is lined up in the backfield. The headlinesman only has a couple of presnap things to look at, alignment, motion, offsides

Our D looks like the #8 D in the country, until there is a 1-2 minutes left in either half.

If they would’ve let them score a TD with that little time left in the half, I would’ve puked all over the Living Room.

these refs gave a timeout back to vandy!!!! what the hell. They took a timeout just a few plays ago when the had the review whether it was a 1st down or not. If it was a first down, the guy was tackled inbounds so the clock should have been running at 29 seconds not stopped,, geez
The timeout they gave back to Vandy was the one they called with 2 seconds to play in the 1st quarter. The one at the end of the half was legit. The receiver made the first down, which stops the clock to move the chains. The clock would have started on the ready-for-play whistle, but Vandy was lined up and snapped it right away.

Look for Vandy to get hyper aggressive on offense in the second half. I think they'll start leaning on Pavia's passing, because they aren't generating anything with the run. Mark and the guys need to keep scoring.

This guy has a noodle arm!
Don't get me wrong. I have watched a few Vandy games the past two years, and Pavia is a gamer. Essentially a heavier Drew Tate.

But he is a classic example of really great college QB......that just doesn't translate to the NFL. His lack of size, and now in this game, you can see his lack of arm strength as well.

I'm sure he could land on a roster as a practice squad guy or even a backup, because the read on him is that he's a "lockerroom" type of guy, but he lacks the top qualities to really be an impact player in the NFL.

It looked early on that they were gonna try to establish the run against us, but once we got that first lead, they pretty much abandoned it and are trying to go full-on 2nd half USC air raid offense.

I'm less worried about conservative play calling (unless they just blatantly go run middle, run middle, draw, punt every possession from here on out until they're losing................), and am more worried about how they execute offensively in the 2nd half.

If we can do that and get it to at least 21-3, then the defense should be able to bring it home, so long as we don't keep giving the refs reasons to help keep Vandy's offense on the field. 🙃

I fully expect them to start throwing some jump balls, take more chances.

DB’s need to go get those balls and make them pay. Hall had one in the first half where he turned and found the ball and should’ve had the pick.

Normally a double digit lead would be an almost guaranteed Iowa win, but they haven’t done as well lately. Haven’t the Hawks blown double digit leads in 3 of their losses this year?
