Game ball to the entire offense today.

Also, loved that they got to close it out after Vandy chose absolute disrespect by kicking that FG as early as they did.
Weird game with many unusual plays. Never saw a punt beyond the line before (which was basically a turnover), and I don't recall seeing a FG on 2nd and 10 when you're down two scores with some time on the clock.

Vandy did have a very explosive passing offense but was glad to see the Iowa offense move the ball and continue to score while eating up clock in the second half.

Great job this year by the Hawks’ players and coaches. One of the better seasons in the last decade.
This is honestly one of the best jobs by the coaching staff as a whole in many years.

I'd argue it's even better than 2015 simply because of the expectations with our talent going into the season, and our known struggles against ranked opponents, given the schedule we had to navigate.

Phil maximized the talent on defense, even though we saw their warts today. The OL finally broke through after being hot trash for the better part of 4 seasons prior. We got the most out of our RBs, who are good, not great. We saw small, but incremental progress in the passing game, which was one of the worst in P5 football over the past 4 years. And we saw the development of Mark Gronowski throughout the season as he led us to some amazing and record-setting performances, and some entertaining games despite coming up short in 4 of them.

Where we were as an offense in the Iowa State game in Week 2, is a totally different team from what we showed today.

And then to cap it off against a fiesty, Boise State-esque Vanderbilt team who had something to prove themselves, with the Heisman runner-up, and win having to ultimately play THEIR game...........is why I think this is KF and staff's best coaching job since probably 2004.

No disrespect in that. It was a strategy.
There was plenty of time to take another shot or two and not lose much time off the clock (over 3 minutes remaining when they kicked the FG)...........

It was a strategy, and I completely understand what they were doing......but they wouldn't do that if they actually were worried about Iowa moving the ball. They don't do that against Alabama or Georgia (kicking the FG with over 3 minutes to go, on 2nd down).

Someone print the F-Pavia t-shirts. His quote "If you want to play with the best, you don't want to play with the Big10. The Big 10 you have Ohio State and Oregon. The SEC you're going to get beat on week after week. He went on to say " Do you know the 3 conferences of the NFL? AFC, NFC and the SEC."
Hawks shut his fat *** mouth up today. Great win, Hawks!

Why can't Stevens get kickoffs into the end zone?
I know how this is going to sound, but a lot of white guys on defense who apparently can’t handle 55 degree weather in December.

🤷
This defense, by Iowa standards, was dogcrap most of the season.

Even worse, the majority were seniors.
Front seven hardly ever got pressure.
Today, the linebackers disappeared after the first quarter.

Vanderbilt Points scored vs last 5 opponents:

At Texas 31
vs Auburn 45
vs Kentucky 45
At Tennessee 45
vs Iowa 27

For all of you know nothings complaining about the Iowa defense. Again.
Iowa’s defense played poorly in the second half. Thankfully the offense had probably their best game of the season.
