What makes you say that? I have not seen any Iowa fans even the least bit apprehensive about this matchup, until this post.

Your offense is going to give us problems, and if our offense stalls for any reason, we are in big trouble. We are not a comeback team.

Look how close last year was.

Plus, playing at Memorial with a chance to make it a bowl season, spells doom.

You must have missed my post in “Iowa looked good again”. I’m going to wait until the line gets as high as it goes to take Nebraska and the points. I’m also going to hammer under 48.

Good call. Were I you, I would have been pretty confident betting Iowa -3, but the higher it gets, who knows. The under 48 seems too easy, though. I'd guess Iowa 22-17, with five Keith Duncan FGs.

I hope it goes the other way, of course. It would make teaching my sports writing class SO much easier next week.

In theory, could get the -3 and the +6 and win both.

I’m not sure about our offense giving you trouble, we have a couple small guys that can do damage in space (JD and Wandale) and a diverse run game. But we have nothing on the outside and our OL, while playing better, is still pretty suspect.

On the other side of the ball our LB’s are our weakest link and Iowa has always been good at targeting the RB and TE’s in the passing game. Also, I know Iowa hasn’t run the ball well this year, but they always do against us. I have heard Stanley doesn’t play well in adverse weather conditions. I hope this is the case, as it looks like less than ideal conditions Friday and that could help make Iowa one dimensional.

No offense, but I often put on the 1995 Nebraska-Florida game and go into a room and close the door.

48 was too easy. It dropped like a rock to 44. I need to find an app where I can bet earlier.

Pretty much when you are at home, senior day, and your first chance to finish .500 and possibly get a bowl invite.

The stars are aligned only a choke job of epic proportions could derail this.
Yes of course. If an underdog team loses and you personally do not like the coach, then obviously it’s a choke job.

The spot I see Nebraska giving Iowa trouble is the 10-20 yard pass patterns of play action. It takes a throw over the LB but in front of the safety and we have looked confused on those routes all year. Of course AM has to deliver a good ball.

The Hawks also spent three weeks at #1 in the 1960 AP poll, and three weeks in 1961 at #1, including the pre-season poll. From Week 3 of 1961 to Week 5 of 1981, the Hawks were not ranked in any poll. Their highest final ranking was that #2 in 1958. They were #3 in both 1956 and 1960. Fry's highest-ranked teams at the end of a season were the #10 teams in both 1985 and 1991. Ferentz beat that with his #8 teams in 2002, 2003 and 2004, and then his #7 team in 2009 and his #9 team in 2015.

Our last top 10 team at the end of a season was #8 in 2001.

Our longest ranking drought of any kind was from Week 1 of 1941 to Week 7 of 1950, about nine years.
well...thank goodness we were ranked this year.

What do you think of the Huskers receivers over the top from Martinez? I think Iowa’s defensive backs can be had deep.

Unless it comes from a slot guy (JD or Wandale) or on a trick play, I don't see it. Our outside guys have been nonexistent this year. It's possible that could change with McCaffrey seeing time at WR, but I doubt it.

Our receivers haven't gotten behind too many DBs all year. Martinez also isn't at his best throwing deep.

The first TDs the past two weeks were due to a breakdown and WR getting behind the coverage for 6. Happened in 3rd quarter up 20-6 over Minnesota.

Lone TD against Iowa in 19-10 win over Illinois.
