Attendance: Fewer people in my section than on Sunday and the crowd looked a bit more sparse. Not surprisingly on a school night, fewer kids.
I could believe that no one scored for about 6 minutes in the 4th qtr.
There was a player I had not seen before on the bench. Never took her warmups off, but looked like #10 through the jacket. There is no 10 on the roster.
She looks similar to Parsons who transferred. Could this be the Alana Ferruggiaro on Gametracker?
Will have to investigate further, unless the more informed people already know (such as a Cager). Or we could see if she is there again on Sunday.
She sat down by the younger Jeune at the end of the bench and was actively listening during the timeouts.
The bench did get some good minutes against the Iona starters.
Iona's style of play was not as bad as Arkansas but they were similarly unproductive.
Rachel really did try to control the middle while she was in.
Copper looked a bit off her shot and took a couple of nasty shots (as in falls/pushes) in the second half. She appeared to have been a marked woman by the Iona staff so the players stayed quite close to her.
She did have a great tip-in/put back on a shot that someone missed, showing again how high she can jump.
Stringer seemed to strongly advise Hernandez before she put her back in the last couple of minutes and after that was when Cynthia tried some different kinds of shots - closer in than 3 points.
Ariel had some good, heads up action while she was on the floor with all of the frosh +Alex
All of the players seemed to hustle and everyone was quite happy for the very long 3 pter from Jeune, who had a huge smile afterwards.
Go RU!
