Defending national champ and 2 seed this year. Loser is a bit much lolCoaching coaching coaching coaching coaching…
Ryan Day 3rd and 1 inside the 10 twice, throw a 10 yard pass both times … what a loser. Same loser who lost to Michigan 4x in a row. Cignetti runs the clock out, nothing cute. A winner.
We used to own IU in football and basketball. LOL! Dark times indeed.Anyone still think they haven't passed Rutgers?

We heard this story about Lance Leipold, who is currently 1-5. Pump the brakes. Brakes failed and Cignetti says hold my beer!www.on3.com
Are you kidding? Their quick turnaround was built on transfers and NIL.And not a team that was bought like
OSU…more like great coaching
Are you kidding? Their quick turnaround was built on transfers and NIL.
because we have Ash 2.0 and they have a coach that understand player evaluations and coaching to winTeams with good leaders can make great advances. Why not Rutgers?
Silly post. That was Oct 6, 2024.Anyone still think they haven't passed Rutgers?

Even if Rutgers had the money to spend 2.6 million on Mendoza, he wouldn't have been this player here because IU has better coaches.Yes Cignetti is a really good to great coach and has a staff to match.
But Mendoza cost $2.6 million this year, we were lucky if we had $2.6 mil. for our entire roster.
You mean that Mendoza would not run up to the line to change the play to a run up the middle better than Athan did?Even if Rutgers had the money to spend 2.6 million on Mendoza, he wouldn't have been this player here because IU has better coaches.
you mean like they will actually try to run a kick off back ? How innovative!because we have Ash 2.0 and they have a coach that understand player evaluations and coaching to win
It’s called coaching…their entire teamAre you kidding? Their quick turnaround was built on transfers and NIL.
How did Cignetti get so many good players so fast ?Cignetti is a great coach. Rutgers doesn’t have one. Theres the difference, very easy
Good coaches attract talent. Talented players want to play for a good coach. How did Cignetti get so many good players so fast ?
And that quarterback ?
That doesn't seem fair.Yes Cignetti is a really good to great coach and has a staff to match.

I stopped being surprised at how good they were after I saw what they did to Illinois earlier in the year.Indiana has passed a lot of teams by. I’m stunned at how good they are. Dominant.
Money and good coachingGood coaches attract talent. Talented players want to play for a good coach.

Yes. You would do so through the RNIL fund (corporate donation fund). Just have to provide adequate business justification that would withstand Clearinghouse scrutiny. This is semi-pro football with little revenue sharing.
Serious question, if I won the powerball, is there any limit to how much I could donate to fund NIL and buy the roster?
could I just single-handedly fund the football team to the level of the juggernauts in college football?
Mendoza was originally committed to Yale. Ended up at Cal. Bailed for a $2.6M payday and #1 ranking. Imagine if there was no transfer portal or NIL.Even if Rutgers had the money to spend 2.6 million on Mendoza, he wouldn't have been this player here because IU has better coaches.
They execute because they are better players. Great players make great coaches. They are spending much more than RU on a roster. It’s called coaching…their entire team
Executed all year long…the entire team!!
with our offense I think cignetti would have had Rutgers in similar situation but our defense was prob not in in good shape for any coach
Cignetti is a great coach, but if you think he won with only the players he inherited and recruited to Indiana in the last two years out of high school, you are the one with the cognitive functioning issues.paint chips are not a delicacy
That doesn't seem fair.
Sad but true. Let’s be real the student-athlete no longer exists. It’s all about the commercialization of college sports. Yet why are the fans supposed to pay for NIL? Are New England Patriots fans expected to buy tickets, merchandise, concessions, etc. plus write separate checks to pay the players?College athletics isn't any fair.
Never has been.
Is it"fair" that Rutgers get $50m(?) in media revenue to spend on athletics while UConn or Temple get a fraction?
Rutgers has the money to just waste $2.5m on failed defensive coordinators.
Amusing that the "fair" argument never comes up when every other aspect of college atheltics spending comes up.

You forgot to add wasting 6 million on the failed/fraud head coach. That’s the elephant in the fish tank.College athletics isn't any fair.

This is what people are missing here. The components to building a winning roster are evaluation, acquisition, and development. People are focusing on acquisition and ignoring the other two components. The QB wasn’t that good before him. He develops players. He doesn’t have one 4 or 5 star player on the roster out of HS.
Better players don't always execute. Particularly when they're poorly coached. LSU says hi.They execute because they are better players. Great players make great coaches. They are spending much more than RU on a roster.
