Pretty scary how close that came to falling on Sensabaugh jogging back onto the court. Could have killed the kid.

Only heard it on the radio - Indiana broadcast - I know they delayed the start of the half but they made it sound like nobody actually even took a look at the scoreboard where they thought it came from.

If no one is checking the scoreboard out what's the delay for? Appearances?

Before Indianas game started yesterday, they caught two of the refs talking, on the tv audio, about reffing there, a “bucket list” item. Referring to their gym as something to see and experience

I had to Google assembly hall to really get a good look at it since you only see it on tv. Man it’s an ugly beast on the outside. Brutalist weird white thing. Inside looks like a bigger maybe sleeker RAC? Minimal end court seats. Massive and steep sides. Kinda fugly and weird 70s aesthetic.

Iconic venue, but like the Rac, dumpy in a lot of ways
Hopefully though we don't have pieces of the scoreboard nearly impaling people

It’s a classic arena. I’ll take that over boring cookie cutter bowls you see in Wisconsin, OSU, Penn State, etc

Give me the RAC, Assembly Hall, Williams Arena any day over the new shiny stuff.

In all the threads on here (Basketball, RT) about not going to Trenton for our rehab I've always referenced Assembly Hall since Indiana did not leave when they did theirs.

A lot of what they did is what's going to happen to the RAC: new front, more bathrooms, better seating, better flow.

And I did what you did because like you, I've only seen it on TV. Had no idea the seating was 17K, as it certainly doesn't look like that on TV.

Everything about Fenway is a dump for players.
Access, locker rooms, training rooms, dugouts, showers, you name it.
Yet it’s the best venue In the AL

I toured Fenway in Feb of 2020, my middle school in the 70’s had a nicer locker room. The “Jeter” locker in vistors room was the equivalent of calling dibs on the end porta john so you dont have one on each side of you. That said, the tour was fun, the stadium filled with stories.

So what is Rutgers doing in the court area/seating area that could demand losing a season?

Sounds like they are trying to add luxury boxes where the old coaches offices used to be. Adding rows of seating in the former Sect 118 up to the Suites. New concourse to wrap around between 200 and 300 level around the RAC. New foyer entrance so people don’t have to wait outside with retail footprint to sell Rutgers Merchandise. Most importantly adding Bathrooms!!!!! Who knows what actually stays in the final plans and the timing of each of these things happening though. Hopefully we don’t lose any homes games during Reno

I've had season tickets since Game 1 at the RAC and I've never seen lines this long at halftime even during sold out games. I'm thinking that we began getting such long lines after they started selling beer. What do you think?

No doubt!!! It only takes me 3 or 4 beers and once I break that seal its off to the races … hahaha

modernizing on top of old is good imo.

Agreed Zap! Never a Yankee fan, but felt awful that they demolished The House that Ruth Built in the name of money!

That's why as a Met fan I felt it was important to take my boys there along with their Grandfather (my late Dad) before they tore it down.

4 beers is all I have in a weekend. 2 Friday night and 2 Saturday night, all after 9pm at home. I have my own rules. It's not only a beer that sets me running, a glass of water will travel through in a short period of time.

From reading about assembly hall that is what they did. They were going to build new for 130m but then didn’t and did a 40m renovation from some big donation. Keep the rac. Add some nicer things and we’re all good.
