I already loved Lance more than most but this makes me love him even more! By the time he’s a senior, watch out! I think he’s gonna be a heck of a “college” player for us down the road.

Lance isn’t the best player, he’s not the most athletic, but it’s dudes like him that are the difference between good teams and championship teams.

I’ll also add this as a bonus: Not many programs around the country have a guy like Lance as their 3rd string post player. A true luxury in every way.

Thats's just beautiful. I've always liked Lance and you can see it in his game now that he's accepted his role and comes in with guns blazing now. He knows his limitations but it aint gonna be playing timid. The kid has talent and belongs at this program with the abilities he has, just has some guys at another level in front of him. Gotta root like hell for a guy like that and damn glad he's on our side.

Lance seems like a hell of a teammate. The type of guy you need on your side when things get tough. The more he matures and sticks around the more valuable he becomes. He has really improved his game to be honest.
And this is a kid who catches a lot of grief from some dildos on this board.

That type of role player/clean-up mentality (from this post and his play in the Bahamas) would be the last piece. Having someone come off the bench with fire for the 2nd unit that can rally the team, is huge.

It's been awhile since we've had a kid with an attitude like he is showing. He may just be what we need to win it all if that transfers to other players and he gives all he has in the times he sees the floor. Like others said, a whole new respect for Ware. I'm going to be pulling hard for this kid all season!

This all sounds admirable, but this is no longer rec league basketball. For our own selfish reasons, of course we want him to continue hanging around. However, this should be about mutual benefits for both the team and the player. Considering the amount of money associated with college and NBA basketball, he needs to be considering his long term future. Ware isn't going to get better riding the pine. He can only get better by having a real chance to implement what's learned in practice in games. If he was the type of player who is lucky to be on a team, it wouldn't matter where he played and getting to travel around with a blue blood program would make sense. However, Ware obviously has skills or he would never have been a top 40 player. Sometimes it is a simple matter of finding a program that fits a player's skill set.

WINNER. Every coach cherishes players like Ware. There's more to basketball than playing, locker rooms and relationships within the team are also ultra important.
Ware understands he’s not league bound. Nothing wrong with that and not an insult. Lance Ware will never be one of the best 500 best players in the world. There’s probably 1000 delusional D1 players right now who think they’re going to the league. Nice to have a player who understands his role and understands reality.
