Exactly. You can’t even imagine a scenario of that happening. WG is a 17ing criminal and I’d rather go 5-7 next year without him than allow him to stay on the team. What a nut.

I love watching that nut play defense. I'll be happy watching him next year.

You have no idea what happened on that practice field (and neither do I). To be suggesting dismissals is silly at this point

I can’t imagine that scenario. But that might say something about #6 on offense.

If you have to think too hard about who instigated this, if you can shake your head and it doesn’t rattle, I’ll send you a blank check.

A lot of people want it to be Shrader's fault, so they can go on a crusade.

I don't care what he said, you can't go around punching people in the face. You don't have to feel sorry for Shrader but Gay does not have the right to punch anybody.

Has it occurred to you that WG may not have been the instigator? No clue what happened this past Friday or who is to blame, but supposedly this isn’t Shrader’s first time getting into it with someone...

Regardless, it’s safe to say he may need to do some growing up this offseason.

Most reasonable people are judging by history, i.e. Gay's previous actions. As they should, it's the smart thing to do.

Those people might end up being wrong, but for now, to think Beard did something bad enough to get punched is just hoping for some lightning rod incident. Most likely Gay just lost his cool like he's done countless other times.

According to whom? (not Shraders first episode of violence). Because that is all speculation and WG is the one with the numerous instances (read: more than 2) of being a dubmass. To think that GS would want to actually square up with WG is hilarious.

Was it during practice or after practice in the locker room ? Or was it later that night ? Just one punch thrown ? Either of them actually break any bones ? I have not seen any info on this anywhere but on this site.

If Shrader is as bad off as many say, there is no way in hell he had his helmet on when he got hit. That’s all I think we can say definitively.

Well I have heard swollen eye, broke orbital socket, broke hand all mentioned. During practice as well as after....so it sounds like a story being told by the old women from church. The only constant is which two players. If he called him the N word and had a fractured orbital socket and wasn't making the trip surely it would be reported on some reputable site

Yeahhhhhh, I’d rather win more ballgames. Sometimes, the best players we can get come with baggage....see Simmons. Sometimes you can rehabilitate them, sometimes you can’t, but we need talent.

Why can't two people be equally at fault?

Exactly. You can’t even imagine a scenario of that happening. WG is a 17ing criminal and I’d rather go 5-7 next year without him than allow him to stay on the team. What a nut.

Maybe they're both dumbasses?

There is absolutely no justification for that type of behavior regardless of what Shrader did, unless it was self defense.

I'm in no way saying Shrader was in the right because I don't know, but regardless of what Shrader did, Willie's actions were unacceptable.

It's being discussed on every State site. Steve talked about it on his podcast. It happened immediately following practice still on the field after Joe spoke to the team and things were wrapped up. Helmets were off. As of yesterday Steve said Shrader will be reassessed in Nashville as to whether he can play. The details from there vary.

You are the most bi-polar poster ever. You posted this about the fight yesterday:

Thank goodness.

We need more of this. Builds continuity, respect, and a savage mentality.

Most all good teams have fights. It’s a sign that the players passionately care

I never said Shrader is a bad guy or that Gay hasn’t done some dumb stuff over the past 12 months. Just saying that Shrader is very talented, but if he wants to be a great SEC QB and leader, he needs to learn to how to maintain his composure and manage emotions better on and off the field.

That's the problem. To-date, there's no proof of Shrader having done anything, yet there's a lot of proof out there of Gay being an idiot on and off the field. Even still, you're still here questioning Shrader's character and saying he needs to grow up, and giving the Gay the pass.

I'm good with fights breaking out in practice. Fights happen between men in competitive events. It gets heated but at the same time we don't need a QB with a broken orbital socket if this is true

Shrader was out there laying it on the line against K-State and other games while Willie Gay was standing on the sidelines with his thumb up his @ss because he was cheating in Bonehead chemistry....Willie should be greatful that he has the opportunity to be still playing at MSU.

Both are at fault but if Willie doesn’t deck Shrader in the face then this is just a minor scuffle after practice that stays behind closed doors and nobody knows about it. Now it has turned into a potentially bigger issue if it causes Shrader to miss the bowl game.

That, Tutorgate, multiple other dumb personal fouls, and then this alleged fight with our starting QB.

Might out to quit on this topic.

I don't remember multiple dumb personal fouls just the one for taking his helmet off which was a horrendous call by the ref anyways since he was already on the sideline it appeared. Wasn't there rumor on here that Shrader was suspended for fighting once this year already? OP calling Gay a 17ing criminal and needing to be kicked off is way outta line.

Conspiracy Theory: Moorhead put a hit on Shrader to allow Stevens to play his last game at State. Promises were made when Stevens was at Penn State and Moorhead was backed into a corner. That came straight from a tranny at the Bull Moose Lodge and Ceramics Shop.

Rumors, yes. Proven facts, no. Gay has plenty of proven incidents.

I agree, nobody knows even though we have some who are all of the sudden so in with players that they "know". Some of the same ones also reported a done deal with Moorhead moving on and new contracts signed. To this point, our fan base is becoming insane.

I only say this, there is never a good reason to take out your starting QB. None.... nada. I don't care what it is. You take the right actions that help yourself, your family, and you future.

It's bigger because some of our fans are making it into a divisive issue. One person here was called out for it and he deleted it, but that's not stop them for posting it other places and using it as a tool to "fire Moorhead" again. The ends justify the means for these "fans".

Heck, we used to put the boxing gloves on in Jr High forty years ago when somebody wanted to fight..... 4 or 5 good swings with 16 oz boxing gloves and you were ready to kiss and make up..... of course the PE coach would be put in jail nowadays....

That's in a game when intensity reigns. Saying that excuses this in a non game situation is absurd.

But I can wait another 11 months.

All except for the fact that he isn't a criminal or even close.

You need to speak to people who grew up with him, taught him Coached him and know him outside of a football Message board.

And Can we imagine two football players in a fight after practice, one being a starting starting Qb?

Oh no. Couldn't happen. Has never happened.
