You think it is fair to send us to Albany?

Louisville in Chicago seems reasonable, but Oregon in Portland and UConn in Albany will be home games for both.

Ill take UConn or Oregon anywhere over Baylor or Louisville ...UCONN is soft and Oregon would have to play a perfect game to beat MSU ....throw in that Vic now has a zone in the arsenal.... and I see Baylor and Louisville as the only teams that can beat MSU

All of the Top 6 are close to each other and none of them are soft, so I don't really agree with you. I am happy to see us as a 1 seed right now though. Things will almost certainly change, we just gotta keep winning and they probably can't take it away from us.

I hate to play the what if game, but what if we had kept McCowan in the lane on defense in the Oregon game? Would we be the #1 overall seed?

I'll bet AEH is dying to go to Albany as the #1 seed, and stick it to Geno. Although she's very happy where she is. Seems to be a good kid, too. She took tons of time yesterday with my kid, after the game. Seemed genuine. Zion was, as well.

Notre Dame ?

this year's team matches up better with Notre Dame than last year...let's face it, had VIc been able to use a zone to slow down that penetration in the the third quarter last year, he would have won that game... last year's team wasn't as deep and just ran out of gas in that quarter...so I don't see them as strong as they were next year.

I'm sure it's genuine. She seems like a nice kid. Zion has a great attitude. Always smiling. I really wish it would click for her and she could play a bigger role, but I love her positive vibe.

We're the 4th #1 seed right now. Means we pretty much get the least geographical consideration in where they send us. So Albany it is for now.

I'm sorry, y'all. I've been praying for Albany. Now I just have to find someone to preach for me.

Because the top teams are pretty close together this year and because the women's tournament leans heavily on geography, being a 1-seed vs. being a 2-seed isn't as important as getting a good geographic matchup. I'd rather be a 2-seed paired with Baylor in Greensboro than be a 1-seed paired with UConn in Albany.

I'm fine with using geography on Selection Sunday to try to encourage fans to travel. Our fans traveled well to the Sweet Sixteen/Elite Eight the last two years, but there were a lot of empty seats. The locals just don't support it enough to fill those arenas, so they have to rely on fan bases to travel.

But what I don't like is selecting the regional sites based on prominent programs' geography. Assuming UConn goes to Albany this year, they will have played their regional in Albany or Bridgeport each of the last five years. UConn is the only reason those cities would ever get a regional host five years in a row. They should do a better job distributing the city selection. After that, I'm fine with them trying to send UConn to a geographically favorable regional on Selection Sunday (assuming they're a top team). But they shouldn't set up UConn for such a huge advantage years in advance and five years in a row. That would be like Memphis or Birmingham getting a regional host five years in a row just so the committee can send us there five years a row. I would admit that is an unfair advantage. Award a team at the end of the regular season, not years before they've played a single game.

I know the committee probably won’t do it, but for competitive fairness I really hope they put UConn anywhere besides Albany if they are not a #1 seed. Same with ND and Chicago. Oregon will have earned the right to be in Portland. I’m OK with them awarding sites in women’s sports based on the presumed top teams, but when those teams are guaranteed those sites without having to earn it, it makes for an unfair tournament. I’d like to see UConn get placed in Chicago as a #2, and put ND in Albany. That way, they’d still both be in the Northern US, just not right in their backyard.

Baylor has a long *** flight regardless to all four sites. Put them in Albany, let us drive to Greensboro.

It especially sucks this year because UConn isn't even a #1 seed. It's possible that three different #1 seeds will have to travel to #2 seed 'home' regional finals--NC State in Greensboro, NC, Notre Dame in Chicago, and UConn in Albany.

The problem is how UConn gets such a sweetheart deal.

They're the home team even as a 2 seed, so the 1 seed loses that advantage completely. It's crap. If ticket sales weren't a major factor, they should make sure UConn played anywhere but Albany as a 2 seed.

Reminds me of when our men's team was sent to Dallas few years ago and was a higher seed than (I think) Baylor, but it was a Baylor home game, essentially. And the results proved that. Then they tried to make it up the next year, or a later year, sent us to Birmingham and we got sent home by a lower seeded team nobody was familiar with (Butler).
