I'll be the first. Reed-Custer biggest problem is penalties. That's gonna be there down fall. Lots of penalties = coaching = not wi

You know and I know Peotone is not gonna be a gague of where they are. Two weeks tells alot of stories!
Peotone is absolutely a gauge of the Vomits. I don't think Peotone will win, but it can still be a gauge of RC. If it's 45-7 or 28-17 then that is two totally different stories.

FWIW, down south there are some very formidable teams that could be bad matchups for Wilmington and Reed-Custer should those teams go south.

In 2A, Maroa is loaded after a sub par season (by their standards), Tri Valley returns several key players from last year and look to be rolling early this season. Bismarck-Henning is also no push over, barely lost to Nashville last season and return most key players. El Paso Gridley is also a team to look out for. And don't forget about St. Teresa

In 3A, East Alton looks solid as of now but have a rough schedule ahead. Prairie Central is also loaded and continue to take care of business, should end up 9-0 in one of the toughest conferences in the state unless they get beat by 3A PBL who continues to improve as the season progresses. Of course you have Mt. Carmel (the town) who looks better than last year, and although not south, Stillman Valley may end up in 3A, which is another hurdle for the typical 3A teams. Williamsville also has one of their better teams in recent history. Their game vs MF on a few weeks will tell us a lot about those teams. Tolono Unity is also right there as well.

It may be week 5, but they season is just getting started! Both classes are loaded with talent.

Not trying to hijack the thread, just wanted to add some info on the southern teams.

Both R-C and Wilmo have chances at winning their respective classes if they go 3A and 2A as expected. There are formidable opponents in both teams way. The above mentioned teams are all on the list but the big one is IC. IC is always a problem, although I think if Reed-Custer is really clicking they would have at least an outside slim shot. Would certainly be an upset. Wilmo will just get better as the season progresses and likely make a nice run in 2A, regardless of how the Braidwood game goes. A team like St. Teresa could be a big problem if their defense can stop Wilmo a couple times.
