You were wrong. You repented. Move on. I would suggest you look at your motive in reporting speculative information. Did you think we had him, or did you hope we had him?

Ive always defended you and thought you were honest. I have to say much of what you just said is a flat out lie. You absolutely predicted Blackshear to UK, and I'm pretty sure Mcdaniels as well. I have no desire to go post hunting, but my memory isn't that bad. Gotta say, this post makes me lose quite a bit of respect. At least own your mistakes.

Get a grip. The kid literally said he ALMOST went somewhere else besides OSU. Where do you think that was? Smart money is on UK....he was clearly leaning that way and the family stuff just pulled him to OSU.

2) stop with this ******** that Dave was just one of many to get it wrong. Dave point blank said he was coming to UK and that he was going to announce on a particular day. No other insiders (Meyer, Daniels, etc.) said that, and lying and pretending like they did is absolute garbage.

Sure. But there's a difference in making an educated guess and claiming to be in the know. Dave regularly presented the situation as "it's happening" and in the end was wrong.
If you're like everybody else and "gets things wrong" then your info is the same as mine. And that's fine if that's who you are, another guy on the internet.
If you want me to see you as some sort of recruiting insider/guru--you can't make multiple posts telling me it's done, that a kid is announcing for UK on a Wednesday--and then say "Oh well, win some lose some."
I side with Dave on this one, he had inside info and just tried to help us out. Piss on these posters who accuse a man of lying, if he is he would admit.
I think this is what happened with the visit...I don't think Cade called and ask Cal to come...I think Cade called Cal and says I'm going to pick OSU...Call says are you 100% sure, can I come for one last visit to try to change your mind.
Who said it was a done deal? The words....."I think" should be the 1st indication that that's exactly what they are NOT saying. Just saying.
Some of you guys just dont understand recruiting. You truly dont. Cade said in his video that he was "this" close to choosing another school. So, that should tell you that the info was probably legit with us. He just never pulled the trigger and had a change of heart to stay with his brother at the last minute. Those of you that are bashing Dave or anyone else for thinking Cade was coming.......I'm talking directly to you!!

2. If Cade chose UK, Cannen had failed in his only real mission as a Cowboy assistant coach. Cade wasn't going to let him fail in this endeavor.
3. We negated the reality of point 1. and 2.

I read the majority of his posts regarding CC. I never said to myself "if Dave is wrong I am gonna destroy this guy." He made a pick based off his info and pumped it up. The kid changed his mind...what can he or anyone else do about it?
Look - Dave has openly said he does NOT have inside access, and that his information is derived from collecting a consensus of opinion.
I did not want to throw Dave under the bus, or directly call him out. He seems like a good guy who tried to provide real information here. But I did make a point to say NOT to listen to the experts on this one and that there were a ton of smoke screens.
And that is the case. There was also a ton of misinformation.
From my vantage point, there seemed to be a concerted effort to for comments to be leaked that would suggest this was a real and open recruitment —- that Cade may go somewhere other than OSU.
I personally never thought that to be the case, and the efforts to convince seemed transparent and not on keeping with what had been a pretty tight process.
But back to Dave - I think he gets hammered a bit too much. Yes- some of that falls on him - not because he is wrong but because of how he presents his information. But he has said his information is sourced from a collection of others- who in this case were just as wrong. And not nearly as many here jump on those “experts” with the same venom they do Dave.

Agree 100%. Whether people want to admit it or not, there is a rather BIG difference in saying I think Cade is going to Kentucky and "get your lotion ready".

With respect to Dave, Evan Daniels or anyone else - I really don't think Cade was ever 'this' close or 'that' close to going anywhere but osu.
That, of course, is only opinion - but relatively well founded opinion.
