I like his upside. Get another year in the weight room and comfortable with the defense required and he could be a valuable part of our team next year.

I think he’s genuinely awful and unathletic, but we have so many empty spots on the roster that… yolo. One less spot to fill cheaply, whatever. Can always run him off next year.

I don't have a problem with Green. He wasn't ready for the B1G last year, but he was a Sophomore so he has time to learn and grow. If he stays, he'll get more opportunities if he works at it. 6'6" and reasonably athletic will go pretty far in this program.

His release is as slow as the day is long. Needs to improve that in order to be a factor.

You know who else had a really slow and low release?

Anyhow, as I posted "if he works at it".

I agree. His jump shot release is slow, but there is the opportunity to improve that. He has shown that he can be accurate, if he can get his shot off, but this was his first year playing against Big Ten competition, so it's not that surprising there were growing pains. Unfortunately, it seems like he lost confidence in his shot as conference play was getting started, and then CCC benched him in favor of Clayton and others.

In non-conference play, he did show decent athleticism, but his defense wasn't great, which probably contributed to his benching for the latter half of the season.

Overall, I think there is still potential for him to be a contributor if he stays around, gets stronger and more used to Big Ten level competition. I predict that he will carve out a spot in the rotation, coming off the bench as the backup SG/wing for a few minutes a game, with CCC giving him more playing time if he can consistently hit the 3, but with a short leash if his shot isn't there early and he remains a liability of defense.

This latest development is obviously your fault!

Wonder why he waited so long? That was weird.
Perhaps seeing what competition CCC was bringing in through the portal to determine how much playing time he would be looking at next year? Or taking a pulse of what interest there is from other teams in him?
