Nunzio goes 500 the rest of the way. Do you retain him?
He is not even close to being ready. Not even remotely close. You think that RU is going to spend 10 million dollars on fired coaches salaries to turn around and hire Nunzio? I mean come'on guysso what does he have to do to win the Job?
I'm just saying, you have an audition type scenario taking place. Theres got to be some sort of scenario where you would actually have to entertain the idea.He is not even close to being ready. Yes, but I'd imagine the bar is going to pretty high for a coach with his experience. With that said, Hobbs did say he will entertain any coach that will make RU a winner, and if he wins every game possible except PSU and OSU, what you going to do?I'm just saying, you have an audition type scenario taking place. Theres got to be some sort of scenario where you would actually have to entertain the idea.
As in 4 wins? Retain him? He wins the head coaching job with 4 wins. Or we re-hire Ash for the team being vastly improved 0__0Nunzio goes 500 the rest of the way. Do you retain him?
If he beats Ohio State and Penn State and Michigan State? I'd hire him.
I wonder what the odds are...
I wouldn't even think about it. That's not nearly enough to get the type of recruits coming here in the kinds of numbers we need as quickly as we want. Not as good as MegaMillions.
But if he beats Liberty, Illinois, Indiana AND Maryland, something not even RutgersAl was contemplating 48 hours ago, you have to think about it.

It would be a great show of organizational and motivational skill along with game-day coaching, no doubt. But recruiting is what is needed to become competitive in the Big Ten. And recruits won't look at beating those teams you mentioned and go "RU is the place for me".
Flood started out 7-1, Fuente and Hoke had double digit win seasons in their first years....too hard to say much on such short term results...so just about nothing realistically he could do.
I'm not getting sucked into this debate. It's another "who would win in a fight, a monkey or a dog" thing. LOLHis background is Bergen County Parochials. That's an excellent base for recruiting.
If it also looks like he can turn those wins into recruiting success, I would say, sure, do it. But it won't happen. How much can a coach realistically do to change the direction of this team in the middle of the season on a few days notice? In fact I think a more realistic result is that things actually get worse for a few weeks and then steady a bit due to the chaos of the change.Nunzio goes 500 the rest of the way. Do you retain him?
I think there is an old song about football odds in our situation. It was I think titles “ A million to one”If he beats Ohio State and Penn State and Michigan State? I'd hire him.

Lol, its a message board. What else are we supposed to do? If the team does a complete 180 and starts looking very strong I think it warrants a look. Now I agree, I dont think its going to happen but if by some chance he goes 6-2 and wins a bowl game, You might want to consider it.I'm not getting sucked into this debate. It's another "who would win in a fight, a monkey or a dog" thing. LOL
Not sure about P5... Uconn? Who else will have openings. If he takes this mess and gets 5 Wins, thats some real magic right there.lets put it this way.. if Nunzio wins 5 games and we do not hire him.. who else WOULD hire him as HC of a P5 school?
What if he takes us to the Rose Bowl?I'm just saying, you have an audition type scenario taking place. Theres got to be some sort of scenario where you would actually have to entertain the idea.

Yup... Or that hes the guy with the special sauce or stain that everyone keeps wanting. HAHAIf Nunzio took over and we won 4 out of the next 5 it would be proof that Ash was the wrong guy and this isn’t such a project as people make it out to be.
He should be hired on the spot if he goes 6-2 and wins a bowl game under those circumstances.Lol, its a message board. What else are we supposed to do? Again very unlikely.
A line will be forming quickly while Rutgers continues to Rutgers.lets put it this way.. if Nunzio wins 5 games and we do not hire him.. who else WOULD hire him as HC of a P5 school?
He said he wasn't really going to be doing any recruiting.Does Nunzio reach out to his former BC player Alfano?
what type of monkey and dog?
