I have a guy coming Monday morning but I think I know what he's going to say.

No matter what he says, he's obligated to fix your problem (if he can). If you don't want a new system, you don't have to get a new system.

Same thing my guy told me back in 2014. I can probably fix it, but it will costs you more to fix it than what it will cost you to buy a new one from me.

....and then he hands you the bill and you find out he was lying.

We've all been there I'm sure.

The only way it can cool with the breaker trip is if the 60 amp breaker is backfeeding. I don't know for sure but are you sure the 30a is for cool and the 60a is heat, should require more power to cool than heat.

So is it a GFI or regular breaker? You either have a short in the heat pump (normally the motor) you have a problem with breaker

Am guessing your heat is an electric heater and heating coils require more power than a compressor.... good luck with a fix...

I think it is 2021 but thanks to Obama anyone of us who has a problem with their A/C after the first of the year will have to buy a complete new systems and the freon is different and it will be illegal to charge with the freon we have been using for years
