The good news is that seems to suddenly be a strength. With the exception of Bell's early fumble, I believe we have a real nice trio running the ball.

To me, Bell is a throwback Husker runner like we had with Ahman Green or Leodis Flowers. Washington is dangerous and shifty, unpredictable and wild. Ozigbo to me was the most solid, even if his stats were not as great. I felt most confident when the ball was in his hands.

I can see all three continuing in this way for awhile, without one emerging as a clear favorite. Agree?

Washington needs to get the outside runs. He will hurt alot of cornerbacks draft stock as he makes them look slow. A year in the weight room will help him greatly. He is kind of lanky but has very good agility and is pretty good with his body lean. I thought Bell would've had a couple touchdowns on his runs with the blocking he received. Frost said he was fast. He's a a good back though, and I think the eel moniker is appropriate.

I loved watching Ozigbos strength in his runs. We all know he has very good hands. I can't wait to see him blow up a cornerback after catching a pass.

I don't know anything about Jones. The coaches must like him though.

Just my very poor take.

Please be healthy Adrian! Everytime he gets hit my wife and I will probably be holding our breath.

I think he’s grossly overrated but time will tell.
Frost needs to give the Space Cowboy two rules. If he doesn't follow them he spends his time trying to avoid the splinters on the bench. (And don't tell me they don't have wood benches. You ever got a metal splinter in your behind?)

1. One spin. If you ever do two spins on one run just head to the bench.
2. You have to run further N and S then you run east and west on every single play.

Totally agree with you. Too many spins. Too focused on the flash and making the big play.

Maybe you should go back and watch the play where he split two defenders who were within a couple feet of each other, and not even a split second after that juked out another defender that was flying in from his right. His vision and cut back ability in the open field is insane.

You don't place rules on a player like that. He was very tentative in his first game and probably nervous which would explain some of the unnecessary spinning. As he gets more adjusted to the college game, the vision and cut back ability he has is going to show through. By year's end there's no doubt in my mind he'll be our best back.

You can't channel Barry Sanders when you are 6' tall.

As a native Floridian, Backs like Washington are a dime a dozen in Florida from little league to high school so I guess that’s why I’m waiting a bit longer to hold out judgement. I hope he lives up to the hype.

I'm kind of a butt man myself, but others prefer boobs , and some their eyes, others the thighs, or feet ,or ,or ,or

Bell by far was the best back in the rotation. Yes I would have loved to see him house one or both of those. The stats dont lie, he was the best of the group.

Face is the other guys didn't get the chance to house one because they don't have the vision and speed to hit the hole

We'll need them all. I think Washington has the most upside, but he isn't the best back. I thought Ozigbo was. I also thought Bell was alot better than Washington.

You can see Wasgingtons ability though. He will be better than either eventually. He has more talent.

I recall when Wilbon came on the scene with a hand full of carries, many on here were giddy with his wiggle. it was proudly pronounced our best or next big back and should play more. Well, how did that turn out? The flash looks good and is some interesting eye candy but it is not always productive or long lived.

What Washington has to do is turn that quickness and cutting ability into yards, not a highlight reel of bouncing along the line of scrimmage avoiding tackles and ending up out of bounds. You all did notice that after the triple spinner, he was hurt. How many of us were talking about that before the season started. He could get away with that in HS, after a quick move or two and there weren't a string of guys just waiting to take your stinking head off. You can't just bounce everything to the outside and outrun everyone at this level.

Like the misnomer that if you have a fast guy, you just give him a quick pitch and he will outrun the D to the sideline. If it were that easy, everyone would put mr speed out there and go for the downs.

He can spin all he wants if he moves forward.

I'll meet you at the Casey's in Wahoo. Their parking lot is right at 40 yards long. I'm an old fat guy and am a good candidate for a heart attack. You spin forward for 40 yards and I'll run straight ahead. Loser buys winner a double slice of pizza.

I’m just giddy with excitement with all the genius football analysts we have on this board. The ability to read players like true freshman that have played a single P5 game after being on the team for a month is almost mystic. One wonders why such amazingly insightful people aren’t coaching or at least on tv doing analysis?

You talking about the discussion on Adrian or Maurice?

Maurice very well may end up being great. But he's going to have to listen to his coaches and make significant improvement on hitting holes and leaving the jive behind. If he does that, he could be really good.

How about we give the guys more than one game.

We didn't get to beat up on a cupcake...We had to play a highly contested game off the bat against an opponent who already played.

Games matter.

We’ll see how things turn out down the road. Washington is the youngest player on the team. He arrived just in time for fall camp so I’m doubting he has a grasp for the college game at this point. I’m of the opinion that he’ll eventually start causing problems for opposing defenses. When is anyone’s guess..

One thing is certain, he threw about the ugliest block I’ve seen in my life against Colorado. It worked but damn it was ugly.

His first 8 carries of the year as a true freshman told you all of this?

He also threw a great block down-field that almost broke Martinez loose for a touchdown.

Miles Jones is the real threat. Not as big, but, blazing fast! State 100m relay champ in track. Very intelligent.
