Thats like being in 1st place of the midget olympics. Not really something to brag about with the current SOS and RPI. Big 10 may only be a 2 to 3 team league this year for post season with how bad it is.
Can we just not play the rest of the games because there’s a possibility it could rain on those days?

We are undefeated against Q1 teams, could win our Conf regular season and miss the NCAA post season.. just wild
Yep, gotta play a better non conference schedule. A couple expected Q teams wont cut it. Indiana my finish 3rd in big ten and still make the tourney.
We had wins over multiple NCAA tourney teams in basketball too. At some point you have to prove it. Get to 35 wins and maybe you get in without winning the conference but damn those Omaha losses are killers.
They really haven’t beaten anyone series wise. Going 1-2 against top RPI completion goes a long ways. They don’t necessarily have a bad loss aside from PSU. The other losses are top 88 in RPI with all but one inside 67. We all know it’s a flawed system but you gotta take advantage of it.
You can stop bitching right now. We're in the conference we're in. They are a cold weather conference. It's not going to be as good as the southern schools when it comes to baseball. I would like it if we could dominate the conference, but that depends on this staff's recruiting. You don't need to keep bagging on the conference.

We don't have a hockey team. I mean, baseball just isn't a priority or a money maker in the Midwest. Surprise, surprise.

It is in a lot of these places, but the B1G brass is idiotic. Hopefully some things shake up when we add the 2 LA teams. Would be nice if they gave teams the option to go independent in sports other than football and hoops
Yes. Play an enhanced schedule and then show up for the big ten baseball tourney
NU down 4-1 to the Jays then claw back to tied 4 all through 6 innings. In the bottom of the 7th NU has the bases loaded with no outs and the tie game is stopped for lightning delay. That goes on for almost an hour and the game is called to be made up later. Damn!
Horrible break for NU. We had them on the ropes and were ready to blow it open.
The Big Ten schools were pissed when they had to do "minor updates" when NU joined and they saw what a nice baseball stadium looked like.

Why would you want to spend money on something that doesn't make you money, is a financial drain and that has no shot at producing "more" of anything even after upgrades.
Does anyone have an answer to why the big 10 handicaps its teams, especially baseball. Oversigning, scholarships, academics, etc put us way behind everyone else, even small teams. It's part of the reason the sec dominates and the big 10 generally sucks.

They also voted against another paid assistant. The scholly limit in baseball is a joke to begin with. That was their excuse.
They hate having baseball.
