Gard was the root cause technically, getting physical with Howard and not letting Howard walk away. Howard kept telling him not touch him and he kept it physical. Howard with the big no no obviosuly gonna walk away with the big punishment deservedly so

HE was the instigator, walking up to Gard and looking past him, not offering to shake his hand, just so he could lift his mask and threaten “I’ll remember that” … Gard of course tries to talk to him after he says that and Howard just looses it. I think there is a big difference between placing your hand on someone's arm and striking someone in the head.

If point differential is an NCAA consideration, then that’s why Mich was pressing. Gard was having none of it, wanting to keep his margin. He had already put in scrubs which would probably cost him points. Seems like Howard can give it but not take it.
