Will you be sad, happy, a combination of both? My entire college basketball experience since childhood has involved Coach K in the periphery. How will you respond when he retires?

I'll remain indifferent. I almost feel that to show any level of joy could be misconstrued as a "sigh of relief". Indifference is the correct answer. Our success isn't decided by someone else's departure. We don't accept scraps.

We are the needle.

So you won't miss the advantages he gets from refs, the easy roads he gets in March, the media pandering, the week-long fake hype buildups the Duke/UNC game gets from ESPN, the bullying of officials, the thievery tactics he's used to steal Cal's pro-day, etc.?

I'll throw a freaking champagne party.

Bet he dies, but the Dook administration continue to wheel him out like weekend at bernies..and just pretend he's still kicking..they just let the assistants do all the coaching..

Truthfully, I don't think we'll experience any less injustice on the court.

Unlike you I like a challange.
In order to be the best you have to go against everyone. Cant hide forever...

Hope he never does. I don't want any excuses coming from Duke.

I'm getting a lot of low count posters flooding me right now.

I have no fear of K, he's overrated. I fear the Nike push, the NCAA blind eye, and the favoritism in the media and with the officials. It's a legitimate fear if you're not a fan of Duke.

When he's gone, we will see a more level playing field, and Duke itself cannot compete with that. Kentucky has always been and will always be the best. Duke is still playing catchup 50 years after K got there, lol.

And it's challenge, not challange.

Don't remind me of John Wooden pulling that on us right before the final. Can you imagine the love-fest with the media that will occur the entire season?
It’s very nauseating! I read that Duke link to their meltdown over Josiah on their page. I was so sick to my stomach afterwards!

What a weird argument and rebuttal. I just explained that I think he's overrated, it's the system itself that protects him that worries me. I have zero fear of K himself against UK. And as far as Duke and UK in the future, there's no comparison, they cannot compete.

I think they've been doing that for years. The special radio controlled harness shutoff back in 05 when this happened.

Luckily for them it was just a battery issue and you can see an assistant walking over to change the batteries.

I think it will ultimately be good for Duke. K is so big now it is hard to draw the line where his influence on recruiting, reffing, seeding, in game coaching starts or stops. Once the perceived bias stops, Duke can succeed or fail on its own merit based on a level playing field.
