I know, right? Stupid librols ruined Iowa. Why would the democrats allow this?
TrNZ CiTZnZ!!!It's going to be a tough run up to the election for TrNZ KiDZ
lol if you think a 50k a year salary is grossly overpaid then you must be poor as fugggggGiven the quality of Iowa teachers that post here I have two immediate thoughts..
1. I'm surprised they ranked as high as they did. I'd have assumed they'd be worse, somewhere in the 30 to 40 range maybe.
2. The teachers are still grossly overpaid.
A Hills Elementary school K teacher who had a class of 20 was making 105K for 9 months work....benefits excluded...lol if you think a 50k a year salary is grossly overpaid then you must be poor as fuggggg
ZOMG one teacher in this super anecdotal example. Now do average teacher salary in IowaA Hills Elementary school K teacher who had a class of 20 was making 105K for 9 months work....benefits excluded...
Is it surprising that in a state who's women are much older than the average would have few OB GYNs?

My watch collection is worth more than tom paris's annual salarylol if you think a 50k a year salary is grossly overpaid then you must be poor as fuggggg
Pretty common example actually.ZOMG one teacher in this super anecdotal example. Now do average teacher salary in Iowa
Tom Paris and Fagnar are two immediate examples for quick reference.“Given the quality of Iowa teachers that post here I have two immediate thoughts”
Can you expand on that?
Wait, Fagnar? My watch collection is worth more than tom paris's annual salary
Pretty common example actually.

My wife makes no where close to that. Your anecdote is meaningless.A Hills Elementary school K teacher who had a class of 20 was making 105K for 9 months work....benefits excluded...

When you say "healthcare" do you actually mean murdering the unborn? My wife makes no where close to that. Your anecdote is meaningless.
It's not surprising gynecologists don't want to practice in a state where they might get in legal trouble for providing healthcare.
Unfortunately not. Tom Paris should indeed be banned from being around kids. Rags has stage 4 TDS, but he means well (mostly). Tom is an actual menace who has openly bragged about having inappropriate conversations with his students.Wait, Fagnar?
Tom Paris has no business being around children. I truly hope you’re BS’ n there
I mean healthcare. Abortion falls under that umbrella. When you say "healthcare" do you actually mean murdering the unborn?

And what does that say about the state of Iowa? So few young women is the explanation? That’s a major problem. Also, you are and always have been a dipshid.A Hills Elementary school K teacher who had a class of 20 was making 105K for 9 months work....benefits excluded...
Is it surprising that in a state who's women are much older than the average would have few OB GYNs?
Gynecologists don't want to practice here due to legal issues is even more anecdotal than my example of my grandson's teacher's salary. The graphic showed an actual number of GYNs being low. Iowa has a low number of women 18 - 40. My teacher/wife retired at 55 and lives quite comfortably. The cost of living in Iowa is quite reasonable you know...My wife makes no where close to that. Your anecdote is meaningless.

Who are you? I love Iowa. You are free to leave. Not everyone buys the OP's rankings...And what does that say about the state of Iowa? So few young women is the explanation? That’s a major problem. Also, you are and always have been a dipshid.
U.S. News & World Report +1If the choices are banning abortions or the current mainstream liberal position of abortion till the point of birth I'm gonna have to suggest that abortion bans are morally superior by a significant margin.I mean healthcare. Abortion falls under that umbrella.
Classic Iowa "educator" moment @JohnHughsPartner . Be honest, you'd know he was a democrat even if it wasn't explicitly state in the headline.
Never go full Northern.Who are you? I love Iowa. You are free to leave. Not everyone buys the OP's rankings...
Iowa ranks No. 18 in economic opportunity and No. 2 in overall opportunity according to the U.S. News Best States metrics.

The OP's rankings were what? Oh yeah, a political gottcha trying to show some kind of causal relationship in areas not related to policy but more demographic in nature. Our teachers make less because our cost of living is less. Economic growth is less because farm economies don't generally boom. ( and then collapse like some ). Even someone with a City High education should be able to dissect these stats...Never go full Northern.

Abortion should be expanded so less people like you exist. When you say "healthcare" do you actually mean murdering the unborn?
Demographic in nature? The nuns failed you. You cite gynecologists, but don't mention that we rank low in physicians. What's the deal with cancer? They like Iowa's demographics? Retention of young people is explained how? Impaired lakes and rivers is related to demographics how? Farm bankruptcies? We've got the wrong kind of demographics farming? The OP's rankings were what? Don't ask the ICSD they have no idea...What’s the average salary of a teacher in Iowa?
So, instead of answering a question you present a local news story which, again, doesn’t answer the question.Don't ask the ICSD they have no idea...
IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Tuesday’s Iowa City Community School District board meeting is set to discuss the final report from the district’s Interim Chief Financial Officer Kim Michael-Lee.
In the report filed ahead of the meeting, she says despite financial records being incorrect, she found no fraudulent activity or cover-ups while at the district. Michael-Lee served as Interim CFO until Pat Moore took over as CFO.
The report says staff were unable to prepare financial statements correctly because they couldn’t understand the software and didn’t understand how to properly read the financials.

Farm bankruptcies grew 220% according to the potential House Rep. Mohler. Yes it did from 7 in 2024 to 18 in 2025 an increase of 220%. That's about 1 bankruptcies for every 5+ Iowa counties, turrible. Probably that many restaurants in Johnson County went under last year...Demographic in nature? The nuns failed you.
