He played primarily point guard three years ago. And it was a small sample.Had a series of impressive games against B1G Ten competition 3 years ago with a beautiful looking jumper and short floater.

My point. He's had some really good moments, primarily in his first two seasons. He's one of the guys who's helped RU turn it around and has been a great glue guy.
Hope he can turn his offensive woes around. His shooting form looks different than his earlier years, maybe injuries and lack of confidence are taking it's toll
As some have said , his shooting motion and release point has changed. I do not know who messed up his mechanics because 10 -15 foot jumper and foul shots were pure and beautiful. Somebody has to get out his freshman and sophomore tape and compareand help him correct it. He used to just release and now he is aiming and consciously trying to get more arc on the ball. Surprised coaching staff of guards have not fixed the mechanics .My point.
He had a very good looking stroke
When he subbed for an injured Geo in 2019 he was a revelation and we won several games and started the winning streak that brought us to our new level in the top half of the B1G. On O was making shots, penetrating, dishing, posting up. But it hasn't been that way since.Had a series of impressive games against B1G Ten competition 3 years ago with a beautiful looking jumper and short floater.

Bingo! Several players on the team are lacking confidence right now, which has led them to overthink while on the court. Fans don't realize how important confidence is for a player. Players without confidence are lost.I'm wondering if confidence is part of the issue?
So true…. Being patient with him and getting his confidence restored is huge…all he needs perhaps is just making a few shots… his energy especially off the bench and defense is worthy for some patience.Bingo! One way to get his confidence back is to fix his mechanics and shots start going in and his confidence will increase. It is a real noticeable change of his shot from early in his career.Bingo! I’d be able to see you’re yip on miss days, I’d know after your first 3 footer whether to give you the 2 footer or not.I can make 3 foot putts with my eyes closed on the putting green. Some days I feel like I have no chance when I am on the course. Some days I know they are going in.
Confidence is almost everything.
Holes 1 thru 6 give me every 3 footer. Hole 7 I'll be looking over at you and when you don't look back I am screwedI’d be able to see you’re yip on miss days, I’d know after your first 3 footer whether to give you the 2 footer or not.
If I see you’re stroke is good, I’ll give you the 3 footer.
Unless it’s a downhill snapper…lol

Looks to me like his back injury caused him to rework his stroke to put less stress on his back. Now he thinks too much about his shooting motion and it takes forever to release the ball.My point.
He had a very good looking stroke
I'll take the sample size of B1G games over NEC or Patriot games. Doesn't mean I am not slightly concerned.I do believe he will improve on offense as the season goes on. He seems uncomfortable and a few shots falling will likely help a good deal. That said - his strength is defense and until I see 5 other guys playing convincing defense against a credible offense I’ll stick with my prediction of him needing to play plenty in crunch time regardless. If 4 other guys are scoring he’s not going to be too big a liability. The issue has been Paul and Geo being offensive liabilities these first few games too. We can’t have an entire backcourt not produce on offense together. Just doesn’t work.
That is it. They need to just relax and not worry about things. For whatever reason, guys are afraid to miss shots or make a bad play.Too many guys look like they're playing with the weight of the world on their shoulders. They need to just go out there and BALL!
This is what I think might be playing a part in Caleb's performances too. Back injuries can sometimes take a permanent toll on athletic ability, even after healing and intense rehab. The upper body/trunk flexibility, balance, and strength/explosiveness may never be quite as good as before the injury, and overall foot speed and agility can sometimes take a permanent hit too. Long after recovery there can still be varying degrees of chronic residual back stiffness and pain that can make it hard to have confidence in how one's body will react during the course of a shot or an athletic move. It's a shame if that's what Caleb's dealing with, and if so, it's not his fault or the coaches' fault.Looks to me like his back injury caused him to rework his stroke to put less stress on his back. I’ve experienced this personally and have had to adjust my motion for every sport (bball, softball, golf), to put less torque on my lower back (had a microdiscectomy at the L4/L5).This is what I think might be playing a part in Caleb's performances too.
