Hey hollywood, why don’t you wait until Pike makes the tournament before locking us in financially to the king of 20 point comeback losses.
Ash is 6-18 at Rutgers, following up a 2-10 debut with a 4-8 season that included a program-record-tying three Big Ten wins.
Shortly before kickoff of Saturday's season finale, Rutgers reaffirmed its commitment to Ash after improvements in his second year by essentially restarting the clock on his tenure and replacing the original five-year, $11 million agreement signed in December 2015.
How about he makes the Tournament before giving him an extension.
Hobbs never learns.
Maybe the new Pres hires a new AD.

Joey must not be very good at adding 1+1, extension before end of season announced & EMERGENCY BOG meeting to ratify on this Friday. This is pretty obvious that Pike has serious suitors who have made offers
You truly can not help yourself. Your default response is always always to attack fans who aren’t in lock step with the administration on every issue. Have you sought help?yeah--multiple sell outs, great fan and media attention, best record in years and a super competitive team and a ncaa or nit bid means Hobbs should not give him a extension--some of you guys need help
one of the biggest collapses in history? Lol I'm too lazy to even list all of the reasons why that's an insane exaggeration so I'll just laugh.Listen pike has done a good job here . But it’s not great . And Hobbs just gave an extension to a guy that may be in the midst of engineering one of the biggest collapses in history . He could have just waited like the OP said to actually accomplish something
Who else is out there that would come running to the job? We were 7-25 the year before Pike got here and now we're probably 1 win away from ending a 30 year drought. What a sh*t thread.Hey hollywood, why don’t you wait until Pike makes the tournament before locking us in financially to the king of 20 point comeback losses.
If he gets to the tourney by all means extend him
Last night the announcers were saying pikiell is still in the running for big ten coach of the year. Did losing to #16 PSU by 1 on the road somehow just flip that sentiment?Listen pike has done a good job here . But it’s not great . Oh, and EVERY game has been a sellout for about 2 months.
this from one of the most negative, malicious, and all is bad at RU poster on this board--my response is on target-your response to defend attacks on Pike is typical--you need a personal life and by the way many if most of those in RU's administration are more informed, more invested in RU and more concerned with RU's well being than you ever will be -- as a matter of fact you live to criticize RU--talk about a sad, unhappy guy--you are it-I kind of feel sorry for you but you're an a$$ so I don'tYou truly can not help yourself. Buying high to ensure we overpay...great strategy! So every team needs to wait until they make the tourney to lock up a coach? Stop. Pike has us with a record number of B1G wins.locking up a coach also helps the players and recruits know the can depend on Pike being here for the long haul

We aren't closing games. We are also starting 4 sophomores most nights. It's a miracle that we have 18 wins.

$$$ matters RAC sold out how many games? Recruiting matters. Locking Pike up is huge for not only current players but future recruits.Yes, winning and losing matters last I checked . In fact it’s the only thing that matters
Thats fine but no need to reward him with an extension that ties us to him for 6 more years and while i realize hes not making $4 mill yr now, he will within 3-4 seasons. $4 mill.yr now is 2nd highest paid in big ten and 4th highest paid in america. Its outlandish and not deserved. For that type of money we can do sooooo much betterWho else is out there that would come running to the job? I thought you meant in all of college basketball.. and I actually think 2006 wasn't even a collapse, that team was simply overrated outside of Douby... 03-04 was the backbreaker. What collapses would be bigger ? 99? 06?
This would beat those. But let’s hope it doesn’t happen
RAC has already sold out yet we are not yet in the tourney. Pike has brought excitement to the team. Step away as a fan for a moment and look at what the media is still saying about us and how difficult it is to play at the RACYou win and cash will follow . And of course recruiting matters because it is directly tied to the point of the whole thing: winning
But in 4 years it will be the 89th highest paid. RelaxThats fine but no need to reward him with an extension that ties us to him for 6 more years and while i realize hes not making $4 mill yr now, he will within 3-4 seasons. $4 mill.yr now is 2nd highest paid in big ten and 4th highest paid in america. Can't like this enough. Spot onif you don’t want to pay the man that is fine but don’t complain when we don’t win. He took over the hardest job in the league and a team with 1 big ten win.
Pikiell transformed Rutger’s national image as it relates to basketball. Rutgers basketball was a punchline before pikiell.
He is currently paid less than coaches at better schools with better facilities, better tradition and better support with comparable results.
The extension was either coming now or end of season. It makes no difference. He deserves a raise.

The Big 10, the atmosphere, the potential we've shown - don't kid yourself, a ton of coaches would now be interested in RU. That said, not against the extension, but need an offensive guru alongside him on the bench.Who else is out there that would come running to the job? We were 7-25 the year before Pike got here and now we're probably 1 win away from ending a 30 year drought. What a sh*t thread.

What was the hurry? While Pike is doing a great job, he hasn’t earned an extension. Let him make the tourney and then extend. Does Hobbs have a standard as to when to give a coach a raise. If Pike were to go, we now have the facilities, the league, and proof that sell out crowds will support the team. I am not worried if Pike were to leave. If we make the tourney, I will be beyond happy that Pike is locked up. Just don’t want to jump the gun. Be patient Pat.
Compared to the previous coaches, Pike is a good. The other problem of waiting to after post season is he might be gone. Opposing school take the time during the tournament to speak with top candidates.Listen pike has done a good job here . But it’s not great .
