Cade's timing was awful. It is what it is.

Time to move on. He and big bro can build a bunk bed next year and stay close. It's weird for two grown brothers to chase each other around the country, but I have to remember not everyone was raised like me where each sibling made their own life choice.

I love the subtle passive aggressiveness here lol.

Its a shame this whole thing played out like it has with this young man.
Who knows, maybe he choose last night to announce knowing with the opening of college basketball and games like the two in New York, he knew his announcement would be somewhat overlooked. After the way he trolled UK he might have been looking for an out.
But again, no one knows except this young man. What is known about him is his lack of class.

If he is as good as everyone says, then it doesn't matter where he plays college ball at, he will be in the NBA. Thing is, will he be ready to play in the NBA? Many think they are but come that 2nd contract, we never hear from them again.

Blood is thicker than water. I get that about him. At some point in life he will need to stand on his own two feet and be a man. Anyone who has a business or runs one knows about mixing family with business matters and money. It just doesn't work out well in most cases.
If his brother was so good at coaching, getting fired should be no big deal since every major school would be after him, right?
Maybe his brother is a leech. Leeches like thick blood.

Who knows. One thing we do know is Coach Cal will take a guy that is a so called 4 star and make him a lottery pick.

Cade Cunningham going to Oklahoma State? I completely understand his reasoning. Him and his family playing Cal and UK, not so much. Like Damien Harris, I am not going to pull for him, nor will I pull against him. I do not care about him; he went to another school. Kentucky basketball was before him, is now, and will be after him.

That’s why you come to UK. Absolutely nobody is talking about you committing to OSU. You can bet your *** Askew will get more pub based on his college choice......good luck
Eh he’ll get plenty of that when he’s the first overall pick the 2021 NBA draft

Edit: He’s also getting plenty of attention right now so you as well as a lot of the people on this board are full of it.

Draft spot is one thing, building a brand/following is another...you think Zion would have gotten this amount of hype after choosing Clemson over Duke/UK?

Anthony Edwards dropped 24 points and 9 rebounds last night in his debut, what kind of pub did he get?

He doesn't care. It is against his agenda...

Give me Oklahoma State NOW! I don’t think I’ve ever been more triggered by a Tweet lol.

Apparently, hiring a family member of a recruit—because that’s the only reason Mike got ‘em—is something to be proud of now?

I can’t wait to use this if we get the chance to play them in the coming years. You know Cal is going to see this. I look forward to his response one day...

I doubt Boynton is the coach at OSU in the coming years

We will make fun of him for a couple of days then forget he exists, just like everyone else in the country will do. The college basketball world will be busy watching UK play for titles on national TV while Cade plays in empty gyms with no televised coverage.

NBA scouts will also question his reasons for avoiding the spotlight and playing for a nothing program. The thoughts of "maybe he can't handle the pressure" or "maybe he doesn't like competition" will be floating around in their heads which will lower his draft stock.

He’s really not getting that much attention lol. At the end of the day it’s still Oklahoma State :grimace:

He NEEDED UK (hat on the table) to even garner this type of hype. We are used to it tho :)

If I'm Cal, I'm demanding we play OSU in the SEC/Big12 challenge next year. I'd run the score up and then after the season when Boynton is fired I'd reach out and offer him a GA position.

As mentioned Young and Anthony Edwards are proof of why you go to the biggest stage. Will they make it to the NBA, yes but his brother and him cost himself millions selling out to a piss ant school with substandard coaches.

Should we do that every time a player on our recruiting list chooses another school? Or just when they choose a school we ought to beat? Or just Cunningham?

People make choices. We have enough to handle with our own choices. Forget Cunningham.

If they troll our fans, coach, and try to make a fool out of our program, absolutely.

We should do it when the player makes a half troll announcement and then the coach sends out a full troll tweet. Only in those instances.

i don’t think scouts will care about his school choice. Are you forgetting about Markell’s Fultz and Ben Simmons? They were the first overall picks of their drafts and they played for crappy teams. Oklahoma State will not be anywhere near that bad when Cade is here.

They wanna see these top guys go up against real competition and thrive while being in the spotlight. Cade will never get that opportunity. Plus his coach sucks so that won't help him develop and improve his draft stock.

What hype?

After last night nobody is even talking about it. I wouldn't have even known about Cade Cunningham committing if not for this board.

I guess Cade Cunningham saw how the world completely forgot about Anthony Edwards (who I had to be reminded of going into this season by Vitale of all people) and was like "I want that".

In this instance, I don’t believe we can choose who we play in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge. The Conference office and TV networks play a role in the scheduling for this; it’s all about the show and storylines.

Given the impending sanctions against Kansas and their lack of recruiting because of it, I don’t believe we’ll play them next year—it just wouldn’t be the headline game it’s been in previous years.

Also, who else would we play from the Big 12 with KU (possibly) being down? Texas probably will not be too talented; WVU more than likely wouldn’t be. Who else do they have? Possibly Baylor will be highly ranked again, but it’s difficult to tell when you look at the rest of the league.

OSU vs. UK; the up-and-coming Cowboys led by Mike Boynton trying to make a resurgence to bring the program back to national prominence; potential number-one pick in the 2021 Draft Cade Cunningham turns down UK and Calipari’s NBA factory to remain with his brother at OSU? That’s a headline game! I absolutely believe they would sell that storyline to hype up the game ... simply because Cade spurned UK and now he and his future head coach are attempting to be cute with a couple witty troll jobs.

Get your popcorn! If you swing high you better not miss; Boynton and Cade took their shot. Let’s see what comes back their way...

Boynton is a good coach. He took Mitchell Solomon from being terrible to actually being good in one year. Not to mention he just got the NO 2 overall player to commit.

You talk about how he won’t face good competition but who exactly in the SEC is any good aside from you guys? Florida maybe? In the Big 12, Cade will play against Texas Tech who was in the National championship last year, as well as Kansas, and other solid teams like Iowa State, West Virginia, and Baylor.

Um, Florida is a top 10, some might argue top 5, team. Definitely projected to be better than Texas Tech by everybody.

And LSU and Auburn are both ranked higher than Iowa State and West Virginia.
