IU better worry about Chattanooga

FYI, nobody that loses their first conference tournament game should be thinking they are going to beat Chattanooga.

Chattanooga is a lot better than people think...they are a deep and dangerous team.

Bing is giving them a 52% chance.

I'm afraid Chatanooga won't be as tough as they could have been. Lost their best player for the season earlier this year.

And on top of that Myron "Never Right" Medcalf predicted IU to lose this first round game... :(

His other gems for this tournament:

UNC wont make the Sweet 16 - lose to Providence

B12 will have 3 FF teams

UK will lose to Stoney Brook

Oregon will lose to St Joe

No Pac 12 schools will make S16

Northern Iowa will beat TAMU/Texas winner

Kansas will win every game by double digits and title

Temple over Nova

SDSU over Maryland

Chattanooga went 23-3 after losing their leading scorer, and he only averaged 12.6 to begin with, so it's not like he was some world beater. Had two players on the SoCon conference team, including the defensive player of the year.

Senior, team leader, "heart and soul", #17 school scorer, 6th in rebounds, 7th in blocks, and 13 in steals ... All Time...

But ok, he probably would not have been much help...

Still a good squad, but it usually takes a full compliment for a small school to pull off a big upset.

Oh and ....13 pts a game was ok for us in 2012.... so there's that.

I'm all for an IU beatdown.

IU got screwed here too folks. They won their conference regular season and they get a 5 seed? And have to play UK in the second round? They should have been at least a 4 seed, in my opinion. UK should have been at least a 3 seed. This matchup is contrived by the NCAA. We all know it.

As for the game itself, I think UK is a nightmare matchup for IU. Both teams have the same strength, but UK is better. IU is good offensively when they can get open shots and Yogi Ferrell has room to operate and create offense for himself or kick it out to shooters. But UK's guards, particularly Ulis, will give him serious trouble trying to create. Now combine this issue with IU's lack of great defense and UK's #1 offensive efficiency and it's just a tough matchup for IU. Teams that have given UK trouble this season are big, strong, physically imposing teams whose scoring is dominated by big men. That's just no who Indiana is.

By the way, let me just throw this out there. The Big10 just isn't as strong as some have suggested.

I am an IU fan but that OP on Peegs is apparently from Austin IN (if you are from Lousivlle or watch national news you will understand what that implies)

I expect a close game

After earlier this year thinking Yogi and Ulis was a wash I have to give Ulis an edge

Murray is big over an injured RJ or Zeisloft If RJ doesn't play. As an IU fan I have to hope Murray misses a few and loses confidence.

Troy Williams and Briscoe is interesting but I have to think Williams ceiling is higher. It just scares me as an IU fan that he can be a TO machine but he will make FT so edge to IU.

Hartmann vs poythress is pointless to discuss as it will likely be Willis and OG doing most of the damage for each team. They though cannot be compared as they are completely different players. I call it no edge at 4.

Bryant vs Skal? Depends on who shows up. Good Skal or bad and whether Bryant can play without fouls. I expect edge to IU. If it does not happen then game will not be close.

Rest of bench. IU is deeper and can bring in shooters. Lee can be effective as a second body to throw at Bryant but Beilfeldt can push anyone around Edge IU.

Coach? I won't even attempt to defend Crean until he does something.

B1G did not committee respect on seeding. One 2 and then a bunch of 5s and lower.

At top B1G is good. Maryland had downturn but looked good in tournament. Purdue is very good. MSU is perhaps one of three teams that are favored. IU is capable but also able to flop. Wisconsin may over achieve. Iowa and Michigan will be early out and embarrassing.

As for seeds for IU and UK. They are both comparable to those one line up but there is no obvious 3 I would take down for UK nor 4 I would lower in favor of IU.

Indiana fan here.

We are 7th in offensive efficiency. I like our chances.

We are 66th in defensive efficiency. I no longer like our chances.

Frankly, if the game happens, I expect a close spread in Vegas.
IU fan? Booooo get out of here and tell clappy to forfeit before he gets embarrassed..... Again.

I'm looking forward to the UNC matchup. IU became a little school. In 93 it was big game. But now playing IU is like playing LSU. Not a big deal, lets win and move on.

Your last paragraph is puzzling. Did you watch UK's game Sunday? Probably not. The 3-seed to drop to a 4 in favor of UK is not complicated at all. It's Texas A&M. The 4 seed to swap with Indiana is also easy, it's Duke. A 10 loss Duke team or the winner of the Big10? Hmmm... no brainer. I don't even know why you'd argue with me on this.

You guys are feeding right into them. Until they win something they don't matter.

Lets just be about our path only.

Not trying to make them feel big as a fan base.

Even if they won, its irrelevant as they would be eliminated probably the next game. But to Indiana fans, they've created a perception that championisps don't matter, only conference titles and shots at a sweet 16 do. So, they'd just say "this is why you don't want to play us", ignore how bad we've throttled them in the past 30 years, and move on.

This is why Cal just said to hell with them, it's just a stupid situation to begin with.

I loved on their board how they say Cal won't be able to avoid us this time....um last time I checked we throttled your *** the last time we played...who's avoiding anything. No reason to schedule such a lopsided game against battery throwing fans after that.

If we play, it's a win-win for UK. We either win and advance or IU wins and gives Clappy a lifetime contact for beating UK in the tourney.

Just did some research on Chattanooga. Their head coach is only 34, and spent alot of yrs prior working under billy donovan. They beat georgia, illinois, and Dayton all on the road. I think they will win this game.

I went over there after the selections, and some dude was like "Yogi will destroy Ulis, Ulis has been a defensive liability for them all year, he can't guard." It was like, um SEC defensive player of the year, anyone? Lord, there's never been a more uninformed group of people...

One thing is for sure they are the only other fanbase that would keep a 2ND game from being home court advantage for us.

IU by 8 or 9. UK won't be able to handle the barrage of 3's or Bryant.

Should be a good first half though.
That drug problem Gov. Pence keeps talking about is worse than I thought. IU's barrage of 3's won't materialize but their proclivity for turnovers will continue to manifest itself.

Murray can miss more than a few and he still doesn't lose confidence, just sayin. Kid thinks the rim exists for his pleasure.

Chattanooga won by i think 4 against Illinois. In 2 games against Illinois IU won by an avg of 30.5, by 27 @ Illinois without robert johnson. I'm ready for the Ulis/Yogi matchup, should be a fun game.

Texas A&M is a #3 seed that Kentucky beat to win the SEC Tourney ,UK is ranked by every computer and voter poll better than them.

There you go using logic, stop that! It blows the whole of argument of...well I don't know what the argument is but it must be good or UK wouldn't be where it is. The right people know!
