Our long Iowan nightmare is over. I always thought his gimmick was lame. Hawkeye Taylor Swift or something like that would be cool though.

I was at a conference a few years back and his wife was a speaker. She told the crowd her husband was Hawkeye Elvis. Everyone clapped
Got to love the constantly look at me fans attending games. Do the schtick for a game so be it, but every game not so much. The absolute worst is that fat bald SOB who dresses up with face paint and buckeyes necklaces at every Ohio st game.
SO, who was he hurting by being a good fan and going to damn near every football and basketball game?

What's with the losers hating on a passionate fan? Dude dressed up and supported Hawkeye athletics. He was an icon both locally and nationally with how often he was shown on TV. We should celebrate his contribution to the university by showing so much support. The hell is wrong with you guys?

Guy didn't take himself too seriously, great sense of humor and was super nice to fans who would engage him. I even saw him takings pics with some Gophers up here last year.

Was just going to say this. He never hurt anyone and really wasn't annoying. I would take him over the unwashed masses that are wasted and just had their back fat sweat drip on me.
There were a few games where someone dressed as the Pope. Sat up in upper north end zone.
Very nice guy. Met him at the UCLA tailgate last year. He stopped and talked and took pics with anyone that asked. Now living in LA.

I think I'd sell my tickets.My problem with the gimmick is that it's based on a guy who's been dead for nearly 50 years. Also Hawkeye Weird Al is based on a much more entertaining person. Elvis was about as fun to watch near the end of his life as someone passing a kidney stone.

I think most of this is derived from the cringe that is associated with Elvis impersonators in general, not this guy specifically who by all accounts is a good Hawkeye. If you polled a group of over 60 women you'd probably get a different reaction. I was at birthday party a month ago and had to endure an hour and a half of an Elvis singer. It was brutal for me but the old gals loved it.
