Both teams are pretenders on the big stage. Both would get blown out by decent P5 teams.

Just my opinion, but I have to respectfully disagree with you. The AAC is a very good conference this year.
If you are using our competitive games against both these teams as a drag to their success, I think thats an unfair assessment to all 3 teams.

Really exciting showcase of the conference in the first half. Tight game so far...
We are an enigma because of coaching, not talent. Against the top 5 they are not even close. Against 8-12, they would be competitive on a good night.Just my opinion, but I have to respectfully disagree with you. The AAC is a very good conference this year.

+1000Also, screw SMU. Always
Yea... wow!It looks like ECU is playing pretty well tonight too.
I am not sure. There are definitely 5-10 programs in the country that would be difficult for others to beat but when Illinois beats Wisconsin and KSU beats OU then it indicates to me that on any given day.... After that first group there is quite about of parity among the next 30.I think the top of the AAC is solid, but I don’t think we have actually played one of the 25 best teams in the country this year. SMU, Memphis, Cincinnati are all average. Michigan state would beat all 3 and they aren’t a top 40 team. That’s the depressing thing to me

Not that they are anyone this year, but TCU & Ole Miss gave an idea how they might have fared in the Big12 and SEC.Neither team has played anyone,
I’m sorry but I call Houston on all that. With little effort you can also cite to losses or too close wins to clearly inferior teams/conferences. I understand the temptation to contort the mind and the arguments to allow oneself to believe your team isn’t really as bad as it truly is, but don’t be fooled. Who cares what other people are doing or how close the loss was. Look at the program and ask yourself if it’s going to get better and what tangible improvements have been made. The fact is we keep losing close and the coaching staff’s response is nearly always a monotone “Not my fault. Keep doing exactly what we’ve been doing.” Somewhere around the 30th loss you need someone we to put you over the goal line not tell you that you are just as good for getting tackled at the one and we will score next time. Thanks for that info. Interesting. It’s encouraging that we are not too far away from being successful at a higher level than ever.
Gibson. That dude is a baller.I can’t bring myself to watch it, but Proche and Gainwell are NFL for sure.
My favorite part of Memphis success is how their coach wasn't a good option to interview here because a former player didnt like him.
