Harbaugh to.....

I read all of these stories from my news feed and they interviewed Patrick Graham for a reported 9 hours as well. I thought that was an awfully long time. If you were down to business, you can probably wrap it up in 3 or 4 hours, have a handshake agreement and let the bean counters sort the details.

You could be right though that his ask was too high. The Wilfs are not cheap. I suspect O'Connell came in there with a vision that impressed them. A new, younger breed of coach is having a lot of success. How they relate to players is different than in the past. KOC fits that. Harbaugh does not. I think it's intriguing and a total break from what they've done previously.
a 9 hour interview seems realistic but it also seems like that would be broken up over 2-3 different days.

My longest interview was about 2 hours and it was not for a million dollar job.

Everybody is replaceable. But I do think the good teachers are appreciated and remembered. It's just that life goes on. The here and now is what people have on their minds.
Oh yeah, for sure.
It was just odd how he was such a big part of the school and then he wasn't.

No doubt. But it happens all of the time. A lot of that veteran teacher's contemporaries are no longer there either. New people arrive. New administrators may see him/her as a high priced has-been.

It's kinda like the same situation as a funeral for a 90 year old with no kids. Most of the people who could have gotten up to speak, tell the old stories and celebrate them are already gone.

Well, sort of, but you have to remember the most important thing.

Parents tend to hate having their kids around so they need to send them somewhere and that place is school.
So true. I was barely 5 when my parents sent me off to Kindergarten...... We did hold our daughter with an August birthday but then when she got to 2nd grade they moved her up a grade in a "gifted program". We took her out of the public school and put her in a private Christian school for elementary school and then put her back in public school for middle school in the same class with all of the girls she had been on a traveling basketball team with.

I know it took a while for UM to right the ship, but if my HC is out looking, I wait for all the vacancies to be filled then show him the effin door!!

As an employer, I know for a fact that if an employee is looking for another job, there is nothing you can do to keep them no matter what you pay or do for them. I want stability in the HC position and Harbaugh just burnt that bridge. Bye-bye...
yea because they go could go out and hire someone just as good right now, I would quess the new contract will have a massive buyout so this does not happen again

That is a classic line. I don’t dislike teachers. But I HATE their Union.

What does this mean?
I'm kind of wondering if the reason Jimmie was looking was that he thought he deserved a guaranteed contract like the fools at MSU just handed out. No doubt his assistants thought they were going to get a big chunk of cheese as well.

Ann Arbor...versus..... Something tells me he won't miss Jimmy. I'm sure he started looking the minute he heard the rumors about Harbaugh leaving.
Harbaugh was going to have Matt Weiss, his QB coach at Michigan, as his offensive coordinator in the NFL rather than Gattis.

buyouts do nothing to prevent coaches from leaving. It is a money maker for the university. There is no simple solution
