BC won by about 15. I know most of you don’t take scrimmages seriously, but nonetheless not a great start.
We are still no wins and no losses so this was not the start of anything. We are still tied for first place in the BE conference. Keep it in perspective.BC won by about 15. I know most of you don’t take scrimmages seriously, but nonetheless not a great start.
Only post I see says we only had 36 points at the under 16 minute mark tv time out in 2nd half.
So u are confident on our 3 pt shooting based on not seeing any of these guys play?3-point shooting will be better this year. Feel pretty comfortable saying that even without seeing this group yet or most of these players at prior stops. But the question IMO is whether the guys who can do that defend well enough for Sha’s liking such that he will give them burn. The positive is that Sha is able to coach guys up on that end, whereas not so much on the other end it seems.
Doesn't past 3-point shooting from our players mean anything? So u are confident on our 3 pt shooting based on not seeing any of these guys play?
We had many open looks last year. We could not make even a poor percentage.Less concerned about the individual shooting talent of each player and more concerned about the coach’s ability to teach and install an offense that works and creates open shots for the players.
Shooting a high % last season matters very little if you can never get an open look because the offensive scheme sucks.
Only if the shooting was poor.Doesn't past 3-point shooting from our players mean anything?
This 100%. That’s why I’m so puzzled there has been no buzz about Del Jones. If he’s not one of the best players, it’s going to be a long season. Anderson’s not a one and we already saw what happened when Parker came in last year.Definitely better shooters on this year's roster, biggest question mark is will there be competent PG play that can get penetration and find open shooters.
Not hearing great things about Jones. He's more of a scorer than a distributor. Sounds like Petrovic is the more trusted option on offense but he's limited with a shoulder brace and not a strong defender. This 100%. I’m still on record that we are going to be pretty bad. I think the individual talent is a lil misleading and the BE is going to be much much improved. But here’s hoping!
My guess: Our “vaunted defense” held them in the first half while our typical horrible offense couldn’t score.Losing by 15 seems weird, if true. Wonder what went on.
He's playing with a brace on his shoulder. He is not limited at the moment.Petrovic is injured now? Didn’t hear this. What’s the expected duration?
This post had us up 33-31 at half, then like you said down 44-36 at under 16 min mark.
We were beating the team picked 17th in the ACC by 2. Not exactly warm and fuzzy feelings about that. However, it's only a scrimmage. The only 2 things we know up 2 at half, lost by about 15. Every other detail is missing. Correct we don't know what happened in the second half, but we also don't know what happened in the first half. For all we know BC's top 2 players picked up foul trouble 4 minutes in and sat the rest of the 1st half. For all we know we could've been up 15 points 10 minutes in and never played the starters together again.I think it's a positive that we were up at the half. We don't know what happened in the 2nd half but Sha may have been playing only Subs or experimenting with different options.
It looks like we were winning with our starters.
How do you know what BC was doing as well?I think it's a positive that we were up at the half. We don't know what happened in the 2nd half but Sha may have been playing only Subs or experimenting with different options.
It looks like we were winning with our starters.
