I’m one who falls into the camp of not caring about these outcomes, negative or positive.

But I knew it was going to be something like this when the board wasn’t flooded yesterday with posts about the scrimmage.

I completely get it and understand why you wouldn’t care about the outcomes. Injuries, mins, lineups, sha probably plays more than in his normal lineup. But I think you can definitely take something away from these, especially considering it appears offense was the issue again

Was it full strength? Details? How many times have we lost in these, seems constantly. Perhaps there’s a reason for it that won’t doom the season.

BC won by about 15. I know most of you don’t take scrimmages seriously, but nonetheless not a great start.
We are still no wins and no losses so this was not the start of anything. We are still tied for first place in the BE conference. Keep it in perspective.

3-point shooting will be better this year. Feel pretty comfortable saying that even without seeing this group yet or most of these players at prior stops. But the question IMO is whether the guys who can do that defend well enough for Sha’s liking such that he will give them burn. The positive is that Sha is able to coach guys up on that end, whereas not so much on the other end it seems.

Imagine if our coach provided some color on the scrimmage? Score doesn’t matter but throw me a bone….

So u are confident on our 3 pt shooting based on not seeing any of these guys play?

Less concerned about the individual shooting talent of each player and more concerned about the coach’s ability to teach and install an offense that works and creates open shots for the players.

Shooting a high % last season matters very little if you can never get an open look because the offensive scheme sucks.
We had many open looks last year. We could not make even a poor percentage.

Now, we probably had open shots because defenses smartly backed off us away from the paint.

Not to me, which is the point I was making. Sure guys that do it at low or mid majors need to show they can do it at a higher level, but I’m more optimistic about the shooting this year because of the prior statistics of the guys we brought in. Now whether Sha plays them because of the other stuff like defense is TBD.

Definitely better shooters on this year's roster, biggest question mark is will there be competent PG play that can get penetration and find open shooters.

This 100%. That’s why I’m so puzzled there has been no buzz about Del Jones. If he’s not one of the best players, it’s going to be a long season. Anderson’s not a one and we already saw what happened when Parker came in last year.

I’m still on record that we are going to be pretty bad. I think the individual talent is a lil misleading and the BE is going to be much much improved. But here’s hoping!

Yea IMO everything hinges on PG play and if Copeland can be effective while undersized at the 5.

All the other positions I think are pretty solid 2-4.

Not hearing great things about Jones. He's more of a scorer than a distributor. Sounds like Petrovic is the more trusted option on offense but he's limited with a shoulder brace and not a strong defender.

We don't have a ball-dominant PG who can create for themself and others like we've had with Budd and Kadary. We need to count on multiple players penetrating and sharing the ball quickly. We have more talented wings and shooters than last 2 years but will need strong ball movement to get good shots.

Still if he can give 5-8 solid minutes with size, that will help. Had no expectation of that but after hearing others, maybe it’s a more real possibility.
