On Friday UK will have a masked player from parts unknown. He will have a double double by the under 4 timeout(still masked)When the teams retake the floor he will rip off his mask, everyone is expecting to see Hagans but no........it is.........Dontaie Allen!!
Maybe we should do it with the whole team and blame it on the virus“Masked player from parts unknown”- maybe more than one
That is probably a fax,and who wants to bet that the first shot that Hagans makes on Friday that the announcer will say "Hagans was right on the money with that one"Maybe Hagans is hiding on Tubby's old desk
Why would anyone look at him like he's a weak head case when they have no idea what he's going through?Yea, or, you know, he was just telling the truth. Personal reasons make him look like a weak head case, so that isn’t exactly the best brand builder either.
Man I have WAY TOO MANY. I got concerns about our depth , refs , an injury screwing our season and so on. What I don't got is time to blow every little single thing out of proportion like many posters do ( like many did with Hagans holding his friends car money a few weeks ago and a UL fan showing it again ) . But yes let's confuse that with NO concerns. LOL
I have a question for those in this thread who are stressed out about Hagans or who won't just accept Calipari's comments at face value...
What do YOU think is happening? And why haven't we heard "he's back and ready to go"?
Here's my thought. Calipari respects his players' privacy and intends to keep the confidence of those players, so he's not giving any specifics here, and he won't. If Hagans wasn't returning to the team, we would know it. Calipari would have no reason to not tell us this.
But if you read the clues we've been given, everything will be fine. He has said we need Hagans for the postseason. He has said he doesn't know whether or not he will start. He hasn't even implied this was a disciplinary issue, even if we think it was. We've also seen Hagans' reactions to the Florida game. This doesn't look like the reaction of a kid who isn't playing anymore this season.
Now, for those dying to stir the pot, go ahead. You may have another 48 hours to bait and flame on this topic.
No, I don't buy it all. I think he likely suspended Hagans for the game and didn't allow him to travel with the team. I think Hagans had some well-defined parameters for making a return, which he likely had to agree to before Cal would ok it. I don't believe Cal hasn't spoken to Hagans at all. I would not be surprised if they have not had the necessary "heart to heart" kind of talk that would be needed for all to be well and for the discipline to be complete. But I don't have any doubt that Hagans will agree to whatever Coach Cal says nor do I doubt that Calipari fully intends for Hagans to play in the SEC-T and beyond. At the end of the day you are probably correct that Hagans will be back with the team come Friday.Do you buy Cal's statements hook, line and sinker? The timing of everything that has occurred tells me a different story.Yes Cal will do everything he can to protect his players(including dancing around the truth) when speaking publicly about team/individual issues.
As fans we are left to read and write our own mystery short story.Like all authors some are better at it than others but the subject matter intrigues us all.
You believe Cal when he says he hasnt spoken to Ashton ? To me that seems bizarre , several days pass , no communication ? Even if Cal is under the weather there is thing called a cell phone.
Yes I think Hagans was suspended , no I dont mind Cal trying to protect him . So I'm good with going forward with Ashton if his head is on right and Cal says he's good. But the whole " I havent talked to him" is just a head scratcher .

I agree that this is all intriguing, but we are really good at making mountains out of molehills. Those around here who already dislike Hagans don't need any excuse to give him down the road. Those who dislike both Hagans AND Calipari relish this kind of thing. They are able to speculate in any number of directions and attempt to make them both look bad. That's the part that irritates me.
No, most of us don't believe Cal hasn't talked to him. That is just how Cal addresses it for US the fans. He isn't going to tell us anything. We don't have to know. Everything Cal says usually is just Cal-speak for us fans.
He also “hadn’t seen or talked” to PJ last year
Just being honst - I hate having smoke blown up my rear . If Cal doesnt want the fans to know about it he doesnt have to say anything . Period. Or state " I'm not discussing it , its an internal thing" and no one would question it . But when you say you havent spoke to a suspended star player in a few days it just sounds far out. Whatever . I trust Cal to make the right decision --although he gives players a large leeway and a huge amount of freedom . Hope this one doesnt bite us in the rear . It make all come out fine , but Ashton plays bad its not going to look good on Cal or Ashton. And always . Just Win. Cures a multitude of opinions .
You left out I think, maybe someone saw him he was walking up over the hill with Abraham,Martin and John.
And Vanderbilt the year before that.He also “hadn’t seen or talked” to PJ last year
You know, I realize his shot is broken and he has blown a lot of layups, but he's still the best on-ball defender in the country and might actually be THE best defender in the country period.I really don't care if he plays or not. Seems to becoming more of a distraction than anything. And to be honest, from what we've seen from him lately, I'm not sure he's any help to us at this point anyway.
This and a couple of bucks might get us some coffee but we agree almost 100% as to our take on things. You are usually spot on in your take on things,I was beginning to think I was out in left field somewhere. No, I don't buy it all. I see what you're saying but your upside point is from November and December. He isn't the same player he was then or maybe now it's just better competition. His turnovers are still a huge issue. During the month of February and the one game this month he played, he's had 47 assists to 36 turnovers. He's not that good of a defender. He gambles too much and is constantly getting beat off the dribble. You know, I realize his shot is broken and he has blown a lot of layups, but he's still the best on-ball defender in the country and might actually be THE best defender in the country period.
He seems to have licked his turnover issue as well and honestly, he's still the best guy we have to facilitate our offense. His assist numbers tell you that.
I've been hard on him all year, mainly because his turnovers are/were just so bad, but I still like the upside of this team better with him at the 1 over anyone else we have.

Why would we only focus on the games we lost? That's only 6 games. Why wouldn’t we focus on the 25 we won? He made the plays down the stretch in a lot of games for us. He won the Texas Tech game at the end and is an absolute nightmare for anyone that has the ball.I see what you're saying but your upside point is from November and December. Look at the stats from every game we've lost this year with the exception of Ohio State. A case could be made that he was the main reason we lost those games. What worries me is how Cal has made it clear that he's riding or dying with him.
Just don't understand why people talk about him like he's John Wall.
I hear ya. I'm usually optimistic with Cal's teams in March but not so much with this one with everything going on. Depending on who shows up, we can lose in the first round or make a run at a Final Four. Good thing we have the SEC tournament to try and straighten these things out. Only time will tell. Why would we only focus on the games we lost? That's only 6 games. Why wouldn’t we focus on the 25 we won? He made the plays down the stretch in a lot of games for us. Like I said, I've been hard on him all year, but we have to stick with him, because without him, this team wouldn’t make it out of the first weekend.
I'm hoping this minnie suspension will set him straight and get him going.
I know, wish in one hand and sh*t in the other… .
We all want this, no matter what the pumpers say, I am just leery we get the good Ashton or the bad Ashton. Why would we only focus on the games we lost? That's only 6 games. Are you seriously blaming all the games we lost on him? That's some unbelievable **** there and shows you are not objective about Hagans at all.I see what you're saying but your upside point is from November and December. Are Quickley and Maxey better on the ball?I love AH and his defense. But no way is he the best on-ball defender in the country. He’s a great defender, but does most of his damage in other ways. He’s sneaky, pays attention, predicts well, and knows how to disrupt either in his area, and even away from it. But on-ball, I don’t see it. Gets blown by way too much.
If he can't be happy for his teammates, move on from him. No room for that anytime, especially this time of year. It's win or go home now.Or maybe he wanted to wait to see how Hagans would react to the honors given out since that was a big part of his sulking pity party anyway. If he immediately spoke with him and he's saying all the right things and then this happens and he acts like a ****head again, you have issues. Now you can put it simple-in or out?
this thread is about hagans’ status coming back to playing your thread was about the video of hagans@JohnBlue_ one thread is enough right???

He is great at freelancing on defense, but far from a lock down defender.I love AH and his defense. But no way is he the best on-ball defender in the country.
