I don’t think a lack of physicality was our problem on offense, we had the SEC’s leading rusher and a pretty good o-line. Defensively it’s just impossible to discount the personnel issues we had. That’s not toting the water, that is fact. We had plenty of problems but I think this one is a little overblown.
It’s hard to find a good S&C coach for less than $100K these days.
Our OL was too big. It was the largest in college football. We struggled with slow feet at T especially. LBs were bigger too. We got big and slow. We had more injuries than in the past and we couldn’t tackle. Everybody talks about this leading rusher but those yards were primarily vs the trash teams we played and after games were out of control. He didn’t break 50 yards vs AL, AU, LSU, & TN.
We were way too slow this year. Team speed has got to improve at every level. Part of that is on offseason conditioning but we also don’t put enough emphasis on speed in recruiting at just about every position, IMO.

Come on you know our S&C is below ave.
You keep repeating this in threads and it does not make it any more true. Our linebackers were great when we had all of our suspended players playing. We struggle to run against the best defenses we play nearly every year. This is not some sort of anomaly. It simply is not true. We did not have more injuries this year. They were simply magnified because we had suspensions to go on top of the injuries.
Our LBs were great vs bad teams. Lewis was bad vs them too. Other than AU, those other defenses gave up yards against other teams not MSU. Remind me when our top two QBs were hurt, we had to play a DT at OL (we only had 1 susp). You’re making excuses for shortcomings. Everybody, including our staff knows our S/C program fell off.
