What did he say? I do know our team didn't pass the eye test from a S&C standpoint this year.

A comment was made that we weren't a physical team this year. He made excuses, it seemed, and never mentioned the S&C. Just how I took it anyway.

I don’t think a lack of physicality was our problem on offense, we had the SEC’s leading rusher and a pretty good o-line. Defensively it’s just impossible to discount the personnel issues we had. That’s not toting the water, that is fact. We had plenty of problems but I think this one is a little overblown.

Our OL was too big. It was the largest in college football. We struggled with slow feet at T especially. LBs were bigger too. We got big and slow. We had more injuries than in the past and we couldn’t tackle. Everybody talks about this leading rusher but those yards were primarily vs the trash teams we played and after games were out of control. He didn’t break 50 yards vs AL, AU, LSU, & TN.

It’s hard to find a good S&C coach for less than $100K these days.

Paying such a small amount of money for such a critical position is a crime. I’ve hired over 20 people in 2019 that make more than 100k and their relative impact doesn’t come close to this position. I’m so fed up with Cohen.

We were way too slow this year. Team speed has got to improve at every level. Part of that is on offseason conditioning but we also don’t put enough emphasis on speed in recruiting at just about every position, IMO.

You keep repeating this in threads and it does not make it any more true. Our linebackers were great when we had all of our suspended players playing. We struggle to run against the best defenses we play nearly every year. This is not some sort of anomaly. It simply is not true. We did not have more injuries this year. They were simply magnified because we had suspensions to go on top of the injuries.

The info I have is he is paid $150,000 a year. That is much lower than most programs. Some are making 8 and 900,000 a year. It's his first year in charge so I'm sure it will be increased if he deserves it. Or he will be replaced. I'm sure the people in the know will handle the situation properly

Come on you know our S&C is below ave.

Im def not happy with Bichey, but I don't know if our guys truly bought in with the program.

This entire season felt like a team that lost their "give a ****" after TutorGate happened.

Our LBs were great vs bad teams. Lewis was bad vs them too. Other than AU, those other defenses gave up yards against other teams not MSU. Remind me when our top two QBs were hurt, we had to play a DT at OL (we only had 1 susp). You’re making excuses for shortcomings. Everybody, including our staff knows our S/C program fell off.

$150,000 is better than he deserves with zero experience as a head S&C. That’s the problem. We promoted a guy with zero experience being “the man”. It’s been a disaster. We are so friggin’ cheap it’s ridiculous, but to be so miserly in such a critical position shows a lack of understanding at just how important the s&c program is.

I am not making excuses. I’m simply placing blame where it is deserved. The head coach. You are the one making excuses. Saying we made a bad s/c hire and that is a major reason for our issues is the ultimate “it’s something besides Joe Moe’s terrible scheme in regards to his talent” excuse. We do not suck because of our S/C coach. We were not out of shape. We were not overweight. Our head coach sucks. We could not run the ball in our best season ever against Alabama or Ole Miss. we could not run the ball on alabama for a decade under Mullen except for 1 year when half of their defense was injured. We are never going to be able to run the ball on really good defenses in this system until we get a good qb and receivers and we do not have either right now. Hopefully shrader will develop into a good quarterback but right now he is one of the worst in the conference.
