Seth Davis has created an argument that UK is more deserving of a #1 seed than Gonzaga. I’d forgotten that Gonzaga lost to UT and UNC.

Gonzaga hasn’t played crap since December 15. Are they going to reward more Quadrant 1/Top 25 wins or reward Gonzaga’s watered down win steak?

WHO KNOWS BUT THEY WILL MOVE THE TARGET ONCE AGAIN.
Gonzaga is the #1 ranked Net Ranked :rolleyes:team. Pretty sure they're getting a #1.

The Lexington Herald Leader was lucky to have Merlene Davis and she was (is?) terrible.

While the death of the local newspaper is usually sad, it isn't in Lexington where the LHL is getting everything it so richly deserves for purposefully trying to piss off its readers for half a damn century.

Be great for the inaugural NET rankings to put Houston and Gonzaga on the 1 line. Gimme Houston in Kansas City, tia.

Too lazy to look up but the guys at 538 crucified this NET rating and its methodology when it first came out. Sounds like the coaches almost created the rating system and it'll lead to even worse seeding than the RPI.

Basketball is definitely going down the baseball road. Just like baseball is full of home run hitters swinging at everything, basketball is getting ready to be guys jacking up 50 3s a game. Really going to help watchability imo

Nerds are going to ruin basketball like they did baseball.

Nah... too many variables in college basketball. The way they can ruin college basketball is to appoint people who probably don't watch a lot of college basketball to seed the teams (oh crap). I think they ought to let Vegas seed the teams.

If you look at body of work plus how teams are performing now, it should be:
  1. Duke
  2. Virginia
  3. Kentucky
  4. Tennessee
  5. Gonzaga
I don't need statistical analysis to tell me that Gonzaga, while solid, is 1-2 against the top 10, and hasn't really played anybody else.

* Stat nerds are largely to "blame" for the resurgence of the NBA. The spacing, the 3-point shooting, the ball movement, the high scoring offenses....

….we could only pray that ignorance one day permeates the college ranks.

* Everything I've said about MLB free agency for the past 15+ years is finally coming to fruition.

* Criticize the LHL and traditional print media all you want, but it is nice to read a column that that uses proper grammar, fact-checking, punctuation, etc. Like, they actually give a damn if it's professionally written.

* Hanging out with drxman is something else, I'll tell you what. :joy:

He's basically a mid-40s Beavis and Butthead extra. One of a freaking kind, man.

* Attending the Jameson Bartender's Ball this evening. This ought to be some kind of **** show.

* Need to pick up E&O insurance. Help?

* Also need some Monday afternoon entertainment from krazykats. Help?

* Weekend was awesome, thanks to many. Stayed with my parents Thursday night, and got in a 6am crossfit-like workout with my mom in the morning. Afternoon run in Louisville with a gal pal in Cherokee park, and evening yoga at Distillery Commons with bellydancer's wife. Evening brewskies with the BBdKs and bellydancers (O'Shea's/Ciao). Met Euge's new little gangster Saturday afternoon and took in the sights and sounds of campus by way of an 8-mile run, and crushed the pre and post-game at the Hyatt with the Schems and others. What a time, people. And thank you. :raised_hands::raised_hands:

That list rankling the last 25 national champions is the worst thing I've ever seen in my life. 1996 UK #9? And the reason is that "they only played 4 ranked teams all year?" If the 1996 Bulls would've had UK's schedule they also would have only played 4 ranked teams all year, and they still would have been the best team in the country by a mile. Odds that nerd was even alive in 1996?

Good Lord sportswriters are awful.

There were four SEC teams in the Sweet 16 that year. This is what happens when millennial dipshits write retrospectives about teams they’ve never seen play.

Thoughts on being a 1v2:

Looking right now, I’d say the 4s (Nova, Texas Tech, Purdue, Nevada) may be more dangerous than the 3s (Houston, LSU, Kansas, Marquette).

Kentucky scored 86 points in a SEC road game.....in the first half......

They beat every team they played and the only 2 teams they lost to made the Final 4. Plus that UMass team was dope as hell.
