Per Jason Witten tonight at practice:

- Giving me a hard time about UT being better but likes UK. Wanted to play at UK as a kid.
- Loves Calipari but thinks he has lost his fastball. Big believer in body language and doesn't think Cal puts off positive vibes.
- Has read all of Cal's books.
- Has been to Rupp multiple times over the years.

Chief, I think you’re great. But Jason Witten’s thoughts on college b-ball recruiting are almost last behind cole’s on opinions I give 1 F**K about at the moment.

^ Glad you shared. Not sure he commented on recruiting. Was referring to antics while coaching which many on here complain about. Letting them know it is noticed by others, which I'm sure is obvious but....

-Any word on what Mel Kiper or Buster Olney think about the hardwood Cats?

-UT is better right now by quite a bit. I like our match up but they're title good and probably my favorite right now.

-3 ranked teams in a week, bout to find out what these dudes are all about. No more hiding it's going to be a grind. Let's f*cking go. Looking for all the individual games to hit at the same time.

-Anything worse when getting an item shipped than clicking the tracking link and realizing it's DHL? Ugh, and they're delivering it via USPS. I'd rather the original Pony Express be working on this.

-Got about a week left in me before I get really pissy about winter. You losers had your dumb, wet, soggy, dark, cloudy, short days for long enough. Gimme an early spring starting last week of Feb, blazing heat this summer and warm until mid to late October.

Can't be stressed enough how awesome UK's video department is -- they make every game seem like a movie. Other schools are starting to do this, but I feel like we've led the way in that department. Worship 'The Journey' recaps they put out after each game.

Also of note just how ****** opposing locker rooms always are, even in the newer arenas. I assume this is done intentionally...what do Rupp's look like for our guests?

-I like the airport being renamed for Ali but understand some of the latent white supremacists around here probably have issues with it.

-Not many housewives post pictures of cozy outdoor firepits in this weather but it's tough to beat the majesty of an open fire in winter.

-Live reporting of people's weather events at their home (pics of backdecks/yard/driveway) is my latest untenable situation with social media.

-Kiddo is down with the flu. Add an 8 month pregnant wife and things are shaping up for the birthday weekend.

-I can watch guards like Hagans play basketball all/air. Fox, Monk, Knight, etc. Worship that type of athlete as a sports fan.

-Down 6 lbs since January 1. Seasonal austerity is good for the soul (and waistline).

-The Gillette commercial was a good reminder to me that most of the "famous" men labeled cool and admirable in our culture today (Portnoy being a prime example) are the exact opposite of how most of us were raised. Growing up I was programmed to detest the brashness, arrogance, and basic lack of gentlemanly civility that we basically reward now in our culture. I was taught to believe all of that behavior was simple insecurity and to challenge the "authority" of these types whenever required because at their core, they were weak men. I still believe that with this people, and am just waiting/hoping that decency is lauded again.

I am no angel and have too many shortcomings to list, but just making an observation as I'm about to bring a son into the world. Perhaps it's just entertainment and I'm being ridiculous, but I've been trying to get my bearings about "manhood" and what I want to impart on the little dude in the coming years.
