8 is an easy and obvious number and the fact that the "Big 5" football conferences seemingly didn't realize (or care) that one of their champions - and possibly two - would be left out every single year is amazing to me.
That's essentially a 13 team tourney with conference championships being the 1st Rd.Seems to me that 8 is probably a good number (only adding 1 more game for the Championship run). Take the Champions from the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, SEC, and Pac 12 - then add 3 "at-large" teams. Rewards teams for winning their championships, but also gives other teams the opportunity to compete for the NC.
It currently possible for an FBS team to go undefeated and not make the playoff.
In other words, YOU CAN WIN EVERY GAME YOU PLAY AND STILL NOT HAVE A CHANCE TO WIN A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.
If this doesn't convince that the current system doesn't work, you're not paying attention.
UCF couldn't beat Bama or UGA's second string 1 out of 20 times.
I don’t GAF about midmajors and how unfair everything is. Life isn’t fair and you’d get walloped. The goal is to find a national champion.
That's catfagbgky level terribleness.already been diluted some with the 4 team playoff.
Did you watch the game? That was the last place any of the auburn players wanted to be.Did you say this last year when they were 11 point dogs to Auburn...a team who had beaten the NC Tide to get to the SEC title game? You probably did, and then went into hiding to choke on your crow.
Given that in any other year, with 3 undefeated teams, Oklahoma would not be in the national title picture it has literally, by definition, diluted the regular season. You can say that makes for a more compelling postseason or whatever, but it is factually correct that allowing more teams into the national title picture has made the regular seasons somewhat less important. That's catfagbgky level terribleness.
After UCF declared themselves National Champs, I’ve got nothing for them. I hope LSU beats them by 300.

How is Shannon Sharpe not getting roasted for his comment last night??
Said to Deion Sanders “ I swear for God and 2 White men!”
Deion, LT and the blonde host kept asking him “what did you just say” all the while laughing
Still better than being buried in paper. The only down side is trying to play off the buzz later when the woman is around. That’s always tough.Yep, you are at a bar day drinking posting on an online message board.
