I expected much more progress from PJ’s overall game, tbh.

Gets a lot of empty calories and his D is atrocious given his athleticism.

He should be our college Draymond Green, but he’s just not.

As much as any UK player under Cal, I’ve been disappointed with who he really is. Thought we were getting a bulldog, a rock you could count on every game. Instead, he’s mercurial like Terrence Jones, only less talented. I just don’t trust him.

I was way out ahead of this but American Pickers (or some other variation) is a viable alternative if you are looking for something to occupy your viewing interests. Or you can continue to watch and get more redassed by the minute, IDGAF. One of these days you will see the wisdom in this line of thinking.

The worst were the games at Mohegan Sun...arena had very few fans from any of the team and place was very quit during the gams as UK wasn't really playing well in either game. Cal yelling and screening the whole time.

King had them trending upward when it was scheduled. Pretty sure they even cracked the Top 25 at one point.

Regardless, good to win a game as we were supposed to for a change.

Yeah, if it builds confidence that's good, and they looked really engaged defensively, but that being said, it's one thing to play a cupcake, but this Monmouth team... shew. Fundamentally bad. Not getting back on defense, giving up on plays, not competitive in any way, and not always because of anything we did. I agree you can't ***** about a 46 point win, but I don't think anybody learned anything tonight.

Was at a work dinner and made the mistake of checking this board before the score of the game. I thought we were in a dogfight against freaking Monmouth given the posts over the last two hours, but no, we doubled them up each half. [laughing]

I enjoy winning...but like the exhibition games everyone knows this is a 30 point beat down at tip.

It’s more about how we look, individually and collectively. Do we know our “go to” 5? Do we have a rotation? A leader? I would like to see some of those things materialize.

Herro and KJ I think have to play, I’m seeing strides in them. WTH is PJ doing? Who is our point guard? Who needs the bulk of the minutes between Travis, EJ and Richards at the 5?

...things are about to get real and a mishmash of 10 guys being subbed in and out at random is concerning to me. I’m not redassed, more confused.

Herro looked great and more comfortable, Green looked assertive, our starting line-up has great potential, Richards played limited minutes, we beat the **** out of the team we played. It’s november against a cupcake, enjoy a stress free middle of the week night game while you can.

There wasn’t nearly as much to ***** about tonight as there has been during previous games. The opponent was garbage, but it was still the most engaged we’ve been defensively all season. Overall, I’ll give it a B.

That said, shut the F up, John. Good Lord.

ALSO: Moved up from 44th to 39th in KenPom defensive efficiency. [smoke]

Effing take your lumps with Quickley now (FAIL FAST). Hagans only needs spot minutes if/when the other guards in front of him get injured or get injured. He provides little to no value out there.

Rack Killa. The random *** rotations are confusing not only to the fans but it has to be a real TF? for these players. Hard to build 'game' rapport with your fellow man when you're being screamed at every second and yanked every which direction. There's no continuity being built up.

PJ may be the worst defender on the team and it's absolutely bizarre. Why or how? Think it comes down to effort, IMO. He gives it selectively -- I don't care how many rebounds he may pull down in a given night. He won't get his butt down and will himself to stay in front of his guy. It's ********.

Unless the guy in the paragraph above gets his head out of his *** it's going to be the Tyler and Keldon show. Still don't currently know if this is good or bad for the team (ultimately). Need the PG role to solidify first and I'd feel a lot better, I think.

Speaking of, Herro better bring his *** back next season. Don't mess around and play *too* well, young man.

Also, would probably swap Gabriel for either Washington or Travis, too, surprisingly.

No. Dancing car lot tube man was lucky Nick Richards was on the squad because otherwise Wenyen Gabriel would be in the top 3 of worst players to get legit minutes under Cal.

Dude did hustle, though. Maybe PJ should try that rather than his mean-mug after any halfway decent play.

Randies:

* This team is weirdly hateable. Maybe the Bahamas made expectations way too high, but what should on paper be as fun a team as we've had in a while just doesn't translate to the court.

Personality-wise, everybody other than Sour-Puss Nick Richards seems like a good dude. Moreover, Reid Travis, Keldon Johnson, and Tyler Herro (because he's white) seem like absolutely awesome individuals. I mean, I'd actually listen to Reid Travis give a speech, for touch's sake.

It sucks, TBH.

I want to love this team. But I kind of dread watching them play.

* I love looking at the box score after playing some scrub team from Nowheresville, Alaska and reading the names of opposing players. It is like an 80s video game.

Diago Quinn? Louie Pillari? Ray Salnave? Samuel Chaput?

All ostensibly actual people who play for Monmouth. You couldn't make those names up if you tried.

* Watching Nick Richards play makes me question God and humanity. Hey Nick, you're playing basketball for the University of Kentucky, for Christ's sake. The world is your oyster. Smile at least once.

* We went 9 and 3 in football. I don't think this gets enough publicity.

That is amazing. Probably time to retire the Angry Piglet moniker, imo. What Stoops has accomplished here is simply incredible. I mean, we are awful at football and were one notch above this year's Louisville squad when Joker was done.

We just watched a team with multiple veteran NFL draft picks. Allen, Benny, Conrad, Mike Edwards, maybe Darius West, maybe Josh Paschal. At UK.

And to boot we had both a coach and a player going through chemo.

To quote the fat Italian, Wowwwwwwww!
