Four Christmases must have gotten neutered in post production. I saw it when it came out and it was after Vaughn had done Dodgeball, Wedding Crashers, Anchorman. I thought it would be a good R rated comedy but it was a neutered bore fest.

The cast is a who’s who of actors but just a movie that didn’t take.

Have you all heard any reason at all for B-rad’s redshirt? Been thinking about it some and it doesn’t make any sense whatsoever and it’s sort of been skipped over.

Do you insiders know something or is it just a random thing? Something with academics? Gotta keep it quiet or sleep with the fishes??? It’s weird.

Not a slight towards you, but it really doesn’t matter. If that waddling duck ever plays meaningful minutes here we are screwed. He can’t defend, dribble the ball up court, make a play in transition or anything other than jacking up a 3. “Best shooter on the team” is another fallacy. Career 15% shooter from the field.

I haven’t figured out why it matters but it’s because he’s going to finish undergrad in 3 years and get his Masters in his final 2.

Exactly, Jwow.

So why go through the process of redshirting him? It’s like Dad got mad and kicked him off or something. Or he’s covering something up. Thought it might be related to the team’s lack of passion.

I spend too much time alone in my office on late practice week. I just think of stupid stuff.

Supposedly he is going to work on his game as well and hopes to be a contributor the next two years.

Back in the day UK had a University Scholars Program where you could count something like 12 credits from 500 level classes toward a masters degree, so it was possible to pick up a bachelors and a masters in five years. It was a solid way to put off entering the workforce while not looking like a total slackass.

I'm pretty sure that it requires a masters to coach in college, so maybe old B-Rad is just knocking out all the educational requirements for coaching at once while enjoying all the bounty of being a UK player for an extra year.

If I were him, I'd try to medical redshirt, too. Maybe pick up a Ph.d in sociology or whatever.

- I can't be certain, but I think that's the sun out there right now. That or an alien invasion.

- Like I said, my mind is weird when I have too much time to sit around and think. So my wife started a pot roast to enjoy tonight. One of the first thoughts through my mind was to "kick it up a notch" with some cayenne and Slap Yo Mama spices so it would be too spicy for the kids to enjoy and I could just gorge myself. I didn't do it though. It appeared that we were all out of Smucker's PBJs. Kids gotta eat too.

- I have no pulse at all on this UK basketball team. None. They may spend all year hovering around the top 20-25, losing January/February road games in the conference, and flirt with the bubble. Or they get it together, have a breakout game in late January that propels them to a 2-seed chill. Either way, you boys break it down for me.

- Heard instructions on a radio station this morning about how to "cook" a turkey in the microwave. [sick]Could you imagine?

-fjallraven is good stuff. Have a pair of ovik pants. Got the backpack for prima...thing is a tank, would've carried her through college...but she chose pink so it looks like crap now.

-won't pay retail for it as it is too expensive for chinese/vietnamese manufactured gear...but sierratradingpost.com and steep and cheap are good options. Feel the same about kuhl and rab.

-Arc'terex=lululemon.

This team has "11-7 or 10-8 in conference play" written all over it. Let the cake bake and we'll see in March.

I would disagree but for our point guard play. Johnson, Travis, Washington, Herro, and Montgomery is a good nucleus that would win a lot of games. But we are just bad at the one.

I'm going all in on Quickley. He's got some moxie, too. I am kind of surprised in retrospect that Cal brought in Hagans because Quickley seems like a Cal point guard, personality-wise. (But obviously not in talent like a Wall, Rose, etc.)

Might be a weird year. But I'm actually not all that pessimistic. I could see things gelling quicker than you would think because we have good veterans in Travis and Washington. Also Keldon Johnson and, to a lesser extent, Herro seem to be far more mature basketball players than you would expect.

My puffy vests take 6 months for the artisan to get crowdfunding. During that time, he handplucks the goose down and treats it to an organic sterilization product. The polyester is created by a fine Midwestern family that is in their 3rd generation of polyester fabrication. It is then handloomed by the Amish. It is a beautiful product. I can't wait to wear it in 2019.

I thought it was stated that B-Rad would redshirt and finish up some kind of degree with the extra year. I took it as he was just using that to get a couple extra years of school on UK's dime. I mean his dad makes 8GD million a year, Eff a redshirt for a non talent goof. Definitely not earned.

And I know, if it keeps Cal here longer, yada, yada. If he wanted to leave, JR. would not have any thing to do with his decision. I hear coaches kids can transfer to.

There’s a big difference between my begrudged acknowledgment and the joy in which your frontrunning flatass displays sharing pics and clips and hyping our rivals.

Well, gang, yours truly hosted an absurd fake gameshow that was peppered throughout our company’s end of the year (4+ hr.) meeting yesterday and boy did he knock it out of the park.

“Well, contestants, it says here on my card... nothing It’s blank. This is a fake gameshow.” *Shows audience the card that has “NOTHING. IT’S BLANK. THIS IS A FAKE GAMESHOW” printed on it. And so on from there. Check out my insta for some gameshow intro videos and virtual set where the production value is out of this world.

Matt, I’ll get to redoing your virtual set in due time. Hang tight, bud.

I’ll ignore Duke and Zion as much as possible and not feel one bit bad about it, if you can’t say anything ugly, don’t say anything at all.

I still think this team has a high ceiling but to reach it Cal is going to have to embrace some principles he is not comfortable with...that is what’s going to make this year fascinating.

The best version of this team is 4 out, jacking up 3’s, and learning to play a committed zone from time to time. We just don’t have an elite post scorer or penetrating PG to get easy buckets. But we do have multiple shooters...

Paris was incredible. The architecture, art, everything... just beautiful.

Did a ton of walking, which was obviously good for my fat ***. Somewhat counteracted all of the wonderful food and wine.

Musee D'Orsay was my favorite. The Louvre was fantastic. Almost too big. But D'Orsay is home to most of my favorite paintings of all time.

For an old art major like myself, I'm not sure it gets any better. I have never been so inspired. Amazing. I actually got teary eyed a few times.

Just walking around the old cathedrals and along the river was incredible. Hit up Notre Dame, Sainte-Chapelle, Sacre-Coeur & a little old Medieval church. The statues and details on every bridge and building are beautiful.

We went up to the Arc De Triomphe when all of the world leaders were there commemorating the 100 yr anniversary of the end of WWI. We just missed them marching up Avenue des Champs-Elysées together. But as I was getting ready to cross a side street, a soldier stopped me. The Trumpster and Putin's motorcades went by, literally 5 feet in front of me. Those 2 didn't walk up with the others. We got to meet some US veterans who were being honored at the ceremony. Pretty neat. There was also a sweet flyover.

The last day, we climbed up all the way up the dome of Sacre Coeur (Sacred Heart). Tightest, steepest spiral staircase I've ever seen.

Once we made it up, it was raining. There were a few worn marble steps up in the dome and I slipped. My right foot got caught under me and I pulled my quad and couldn't put any weight on my knee. I thought I had Carson Palmered it. Ended up not being too serious. I was able to limp around. Thankfully, that was the last stop of our trip. The walk back down and to the train was awful as was the airport the next day, but I am close to 100% already.

I thwarted a pickpocket on the train from the airport to the hotel as soon as we got there. He was too obvious. I saw him signaling to a couple of others up ahead of us and saw him eyeballing our luggage. I told my wife to be careful and of course she thought I was being paranoid/racist. (He looked like the "I'm your Captain now" guy)

Sure enough when we got up to get off at our stop, he did, too. I got between him and Marge and he immediate went for my phone in my pocket. I twisted his fingers and he put his hands up like, "My Bad." He continued to follow us, so I just turned around and loudly told him we didn't have anything else in our pockets so he just took off.

Other than that the people were very friendly, which was the opposite of what a lot of people had told me. Not knowing French was never an issue.

Rain caused us to change plans a few times. Would have liked to go to Versailles (no Booker) and Normandy. Hopefully, I will someday.

My first trip to Europe was great and I hope to go back. Rome is #1 on my future wishlist.

Theory that I don't really disagree with: The team we saw in the Bahamas was that version, and played the way those kids know how to play. The team we saw the first two games was Cal's version, i.e., the way he's comfortable with playing. Not that he "strangled" them, but they definitely weren't settled in.

He's got to -- as chad says -- "modernize" his approach to college basketball in 2018. Will he do it? No clue. But the fact that he's generally ahead of the curve on stuff like this, e.g., "Dribble Drive" was probably considered cutting edge when he implemented it 12+ years ago, gives me hope.

There's too much talent on this team to eat a big turd omelet in March again this year. Three straight years without a Final Four in what should be our "salad days" is too long.

Don't make it four, JOHN.

If you loved the Musee d'Orsay, you would love the Musée de l'Orangerie. Full of Impressionists and Post-Impressionists. It's almost like an Orsay spin-off. That's the thing about Paris, Rome, Florence - there are some small out-of-the-way, but world-class, museums that, in any other city, would be at the top of every must-see list. Rome and Florence are heaven for art and art history majors.

Arc'teryx *might* be worth it if you are a professional skier/climber/alpine rescuer; otherwise, it just signals that you're a douche with too much money to burn (e.g. porscheboatchomp).
