- House all alone for father tonight and tomorrow.
Basil and some domestics mixed with NFL/NBA gambol tonight.
Breeder's Cup (more on that below) and Cats for Friday; same drink order.
- Caravan leaving Maysville Saturday morning at 8:30. Hoping to have tailgate up by 10:30 or 11:00. Make some Breeder's Cup bets, head over and see PAWL and the gang, and catch some football gambol. Cat walk should be on fire.
- I can't (well I can) imagine the electricity walking into Kroger(s) Field. And that crowd will be bonkers. Probably a little mix of: Daniel-san crane-kicking John Lawrence, Hogan slamming Andre, Rocky running with fans up the Philly Museum of Art, Astrodome fans chanting, "Let Them Play!", etc.
That Kash Daniels-voiced introduction better be played before the game.
- John Prine's "My Old Kentucky Home, Goodnight" in full rotation, gang.
- Love Keeneland. Love it even more coming out in the black. That meet comes-and-goes like a blink of an eye. Clubhouse was amazing. But give me the Lexington/KY or Phoenix rooms. I like being near the tote board/finish line. Also, the $60/70 extra is worth it up there.
Go to will call, ask to be put on waiting list for those that don't show for their table, get called at 12:30, enjoy brisket, prime rib, etc. with no bathroom/beer lines.
See you every weekend in April, K-land.
- Speaking of horses, looking at my Time Form (US) PPs.
Friday - Race 8 (Juvenile. Turf)
WIDE OPEN race. I'm sure all the money will come in on Current, but I'm looking at #2 Uncle Benny (15-1 ML). His trainer (John Servis) is straight fire as of late. And the trainer/jockey combo is always money. With Ortiz on his horses, they are hitting 40% wins and 70% money finishes. Turf should be soft and always like rail horses on the grass. And you can't go against a horse named Benny this weekend.
2,12,14/ALL
Race 10 (Juvenile)
Chalk will be Game Winner and Code of Honor, but I am going with #8 Standard Deviation. Chad Brown/Castellano combo for dad. Horse should have won the Futurity at Keeneland last month, but two bombs came ahead of him. Will also throw in an absolute bomb in Derby Date (30-1 ML) for the coach, D. Wayne Lukas
3,8,9/ALL
Saturday
Race 9 (Distaff) - Monomoy Girl should take it, but I'm going with Wonder Gadot as my price horse. 5,11/ALL/ALL
Race 11 (BC Classic) - All OVER Catholic Boy with Thunder Snow and West Coast. I don't like Accelerate getting that 14th post. 1,3,7/ALL/ALL
Hell, won't even be thinking of horses at that time, but little extra for afterwards.
GO CATS AND BOL!!
