* Every year or so, some lackey over at KSR will do a "where are they now?" piece. While the topic is interesting, their work amounts to a simple Google search and regurgitation of the information straight back to the site.

I'd actually like to know what some of these guys are REALLY up to, and D Lamb is a prime example.

Speaking of Google search....evidently he plays professionally for the Greek club Lavrio. Whatever that means.

* That wcc fella sure is one jetsetting SOB these days. I'll tell you what, you small town hillbillies marry up, and next thing you know you're mooching off your well compensated spouses and galivanting all across the globe.

We all thought BBdK was bad, but The Chad has taken the crown, imo.

* Going to see A Star Is Born tonight with the lass. I'll be Facebook live'ing for anyone who's interested in watching me sob and preen for 135 minutes.

* Reading Fear (Woodward) right now -- picked it up at the airport on the ride home last weekend. Probably a little too much for some of you snowflakes to handle, but it's a great book. I actually find myself flip-flopping between ridicule and admiration for the free-wheeling, shoot-from-the-hip style of our Commander In Chief.

"sir, with all due respect, we've adhered to this friendly accord for 135 years, and it's vital to world peace and the financial stability of our entire country."
"f 'em! they're ripping us off! get them on the phone now, and i'm cutting this off!"

:joy:

It's not altogether different from reading in-game GYERO redass commentary during a losing football game. Great stuff.

* Somehow Vandy's qb threw for 300+ yards against us last year......but 4 picks. And that was against a much leaner defense. I think we kill that guy this weekend, and win going away.

Cats 31, Vandy 10.

* Craig Counsell is something else, man. Pulling his starter after 5 pitches, and bringing him back to start the next game.

Re: Towns, there are just some teams in the NBA that I would just want to get away from if I’m a top player.

Easy for me to say that I’d step a way from a max deal with my current team when a second team can’t offer you as much, but if I played in Sacramento, Minnesota or Charlotte I’d just try to get the hell out of there. They seem to perpetually do stupid things, and careers always seem to improve for those who get out of there.

So I hope KAT can move on soon.

-Alonzo Trier, what a steal. Dude seems possessed since going undrafted...never quite understood why scouts didn't like him, he's relentless.
The knock on Trier was that he was too much of a tweener, both in terms of size and game, but I never understood that. He's the same size as Klay Thompson and he can ball. He's one of those guys who's going to be better in the NBA than he was in college because he'll thrive on NBA spacing. That dunk at the end of the 3rd quarter made me raise my voice a little.

Knox was so nervous last night. He was long on most of his misses, the ultimate mark of a jittery player. MSG gave him a standing ovation when he came into the game and never lost patience when he missed his first few shots. He'll be fine. Hopefully nobody notices because the Knicks scored 49 in a quarter last night. For one night that got me a little excited.

* Willie Cauley-Stein and De'Aaron Fox started last night, played the most minutes in the game for the Kings, had respective +/- of +17 and +19, all of the Kings starters had +/- of at least +9 and played at least 27 minutes and the Kings lost by 6. That is a HORRENDOUS bench performance by Sacramento. Iman Shumpert -29 in 18 minutes, Harry Giles -23 in 10 minutes, Frank Mason -12 in 5 minutes. Good lord, man. What an impact on the game by those guys.

You ask almost any scout/coach/analyst to name their Top 3 HS players not named LeBron they've scouted in the last 20 years, and Giles is there just about every time.

I've gone back to watch what's available online, but I guess you can only garner so much from watching clips. He must have really been something for that many people to agree on him, I've just never been able to figure out what separated him from so many others.

I was asking about Vancouver not Monaco, you idiot. I drive a Honda Fit. Not sure that’s balling.

I genuinely love Jimmy Butler playing the role of Ric Flair-style heel. When he took over practice and reportedly screamed at the entire organization “YOU FING NEED ME,” it reminded me of my status in GYERO.

Fake measurements! We do that all the time at Centre, he's bigger than that.

Sorry- I’m afraid you’ve been exposed as someone who doesn’t know **** about basketball.

And yeah, I expect that you’ll come back with a Joe Harvell or Henrik Rodl reference but the ink is dry, my friend. You’re a casual fan- nothing more.

It really is ridiculous.

BTW, the new basement is done and I'm off to Paris, and possibly a day in Barcelona, in 3 weeks.

Houston will be must watch TV this season.

Ball-stopping Melo (most overrated NBA 'star' ever IMO) alongside ball-dominating Harden and ***** *** CP3 will make for some wonderful memes. Don't see how that is going to work...

And Thibs was fortunate Ainge landed the big 3 otherwise he'd be another no-name assistant bouncing around the League. Eff him. He's awful.

You actually dropped a line stating your affinity for hosiery the other day, bub. Really.

The NBA kicked off this week and considering there about 30 UK guys littered throughout, I'd venture to guess people are going to talk about it... even chad.

You can also win coach of the year and be fired a week later like happened recently with the Toronto coach, just a weird profession.

Something you want to say about my best friend former UK player Todd wcc?

My minimalistic wife is throwing a gender reveal party for our second born this Saturday. Catered, special invitations, a pumpkin theme, been getting random crap from Etsy in the mail the last 3 weeks, the works. Don’t have the heart to tell her no one gives a **** expect us. Pulling for a boy this time, will throw a fit and pout and cry and ruin the entire event if it’s a girl though as seems to be the trend on some YouTube videos I’ve seen.

Got in a fender bender the other day, what a GD nightmare. Completely my fault as I was looking at my phone like a 16 year old. Rear-ended a Honda minivan going about 8mph. Went to check on lady she was on phone with 911 within 10 seconds, got out of her car snapping photos like CSI. Been about 15 years since I’ve been in a wreck the ensuing hassle is awful.

NBA coaching is quite the lifetime gig. Once you're in ---> you're in forever, and will be given opportunities to fail over and over again as long you're still breathing.

Always found it bizarre.
Half of the coaches in the league are on their first jobs. The rest of them have been fired 19 combined times, a little over one firing per man. Alvin Gentry in New Orleans is on his fourth team, but he's done a good job with the Pelicans when they've been healthy.

SEC Media Day yesterday...Avery Johnson was awesome, Frank Martin was awesome, Reid Travis was awesome, but the best interview was Admiral Schofield. Tennessee is so fun to hate but I can't help but like this group of dudes, minus Grant Williams, who has great game but flops and whines too much for my taste. Schofield might be my favorite non-UK guy in the country this year, either him or Ryu Hayabusa on Gonzaga.

Couldn't believe Admiral was left off 1st Team, that dude is a stud.

-I was speaking about the NBA in general, not necessarily HC. Most of those assistants are lifers.

NBA TV has a show, Crunch Time, where they bounce around from game to game depending on the score/situation. I rotated between that & the Pelicans game last might and couldn’t get enough.

Of course I’m a college basketball nut but like all GYEROMEN but the NBA game is so much more damn pure and entertaining. No choppiness, no “I’m in control here” coaching timeouts, no body humping fouls, no zone ( good luck zoning a NBA team) and just incredible flow.

As big of a CBB honk as there is, and it will be my favorite sport forever no matter how 'bad' it gets. At it's best, nothing compares. They could learn SO much from the NBA though.

The average NBA game duration was 2:15 last year -- roughly the same, or less, than a competitive CBB game. This, despite 48 minutes of actual game time.

2nd Rd+ NCAAT games are closer to 2:30.

Same - it gave us better seats than I paid for, even though it didn't give me the option to upgrade at the time I signed up. (Of course, they're charging the difference now, but I'm quite happy).

Thank you, wcc and Sparty.

By the way Ron, if Todd were your best friend, you'd know he spells it "Tod". (Which, I'll admit, is od).

I really have a hard time picking who I loathe the most work related...

1) Fun Socks Guy - HA. CHECK THESE OUT. I HAVE PRETZELS ON MY SOCKS. SO MUCH FUN.

You look like a damn child.

2) Calendar Guy- YEAH. LET’S LOOK AT MY CALANDAR. I’M AVAILABE FOR COFFEE THE MORNING OF NOVEMBER 22 AT 7:25.

Get touched. You aren’t the President. I’ll pass, chief.

I’m afriad the powers that be will kill college basketball as we know it within our lifetime. Like d e a d dead sport.

There are creative and smart ways to fix it in conjunction with the league but it’s clear that the NBA looks at the idiots steering that ship and wants no part of them.

Reminds me of my wife's trashy south end cousins having wedding showers on their 3rd wedding. Or the ones not married having baby showers.
