If you are an almost40 dad and you don’t have a pair of crocs you are suspect in my book. The embarrassment they bring to my 12 year old daughter and my wife is enough of a reason to rock them...dads have to let the household know who is in control by wearing dad stuff at times. I’m thisclose to getting a straw hat for the beach. They test my patience on the way down and I will stop at Alvin’s Island for a hat and Big Johnson shirt.

But I pick my spots, I’m not an animal.

Crocs are for kitchen employees you Neanderthals. What’s wrong with flops in and around the house? Hell we don’t even wear shoes in the house besides the gals slippers, cheetah fur inside of course.

I wear flops 90% of the time but I've actually been doing **** around the house (don't recommend it) with an endless list still remaining and flops just don't get it done.

I’m shocked anyone can listen to those hens cackle for 30 minutes before ever getting to the point of the podcast.

They’re shrill and annoying when discussing anything except murder, no doubt.

However, my podcast app has a “fast forward” function that allows you to skip past stuff you don’t want to hear. And if you go too far, there’s also a “rewind” function that allows you to go back to where you originally intended to stop.

It’s pretty cool.

Rax I think it’s time for you to join the wrestling thread.

Headed to KY lake this weekend. Can’t wait for the drive in showing Incredibles 2 and Solo back to back. Probably check out Patti’s to see what’s up there, and get some Knoth’s BBQ.

Crocs are awesome, but true rednecks/hillbillies go barefoot in KY. So you’d just be old and very white.

As long as you do not get camouflage.

Doc Rivers is no longer in charge in LA so they traded Austin Rivers. The best part is it clears room for a UK point guard, and sends him to Washington to back up a UK point guard.

Nice!

Patti's burned and was torn down, being re-built though. They do have a food truck parked just outside the restaurant. Limited menu but you can still get the chops, also a seating area.

:joy:

Well if my family didn’t own the drive in maybe I’d be gullible enough to believe the lake dried up.

As it stands I’ll be in town shortly after lunch.

Are you part of the Harrington clan? Amazing how Mrs. Evelyn is still going strong at 107 years old. Must be the cheeseburgers

I am not a Harrington myself, but they are family. Yes it crazy how she has lived so long, and has out lived all but 2 of her children.

Now that they have allowed the younger generation to run it they are really doing a lot better.

As usual contrarian PTI(or any PTI for that matter) is wrong and speaking on something he doesn’t know about.

I'm not wearing flops this summer because my toenails are turning black and falling off from FATMANRUNNING.

Brooks Dyads out in public until I get that whole thing figured out.

-The color of Maci Morris's letter jacket is the correct color blue. Why don't we use that for our uniforms? I guess Nike doesn't make the letter jackets, so they're cool with that.

-Saw American Animals, the movie about the Transy art heist. Riveting. 2 hours went by like 20 minutes. It's a combination drama / documentary, acting interspersed with interviews. Really well done - highly recommend.

Is it proper to hate on all Crocs or just the weird-looking things with holes in them? These don't seem terrible IMO.

Also, dare I ask about water shoes? Is there such a thing as a "good" pair of water shoes?

Are we going to get some new football unis this season? What’s it been, 4 years in these generic threads? At least roll out some new generic MAC level gear that I can hate watch.

I bought a pair of Rainbows about 15 years ago and still wear them. They’re getting a little worn so I bought a new pair this summer. I keep my old ones on my porch and they’re my “gotta run out real quick” shoes. I had a pair of crocs for wearing in the yard but I left them outside too long and they kinda melted.

And that’s it for this week’s edition of “MaxPowerrr’s Summer Shoe Talk”. Join us next week when you can get pumped.

It's a subtle way to differentiate himself. And it's not the same as wearing a bow tie, colored slacks, or a distinctive sports coat, which is simply adding a little variety or having some fun with customary dress. This is a personal statement. He truly believes everyone else is wearing golf shirts incorrectly, and he's not budging on it. It's the fashion world's equivalent to "backing into a parking space."

Something only an ******* does, basically.

-Favorite podcasts are one-on-one conversations: Joe Rogan, Rich Roll, etc. Guys who can make a two-hour conversation feel more like 30 minutes, and can make any subject seem interesting.

-Love the way Cal has widened the net the past two recruiting cycles. It's okay to put all your eggs in one basket when you're guaranteed to keep all the eggs. But with everybody playing the game now, you have to adapt, and Cal has.

-How worthless is squash? Squeaky, bland, and only edible when you add five ingredients and six steps, and even after that, it's meh. We've got a ton of it as part of our CSA(non-Confederate) share, and it's just sitting there. At least with zucchini you can make delicious bread.

-Seems to be a growing level of support for flip-flopping NBA free agency season and the Draft. Makes perfect sense to me.

-Maybe Mitch has just massive, 1970's style chest hair that threatens to spill over the top of that shirt and keeping the top button buttoned is his way of sparing us all a tremendous amount of insane jealousy? I don't know, I'm just spitballing here.

I’m increasingly anti-meathead so Joe Rogan will get no ear from me.

Agree when he's talking about meathead subjects like food, exercise, etc. But when he's talking with musicians, political types, comedians, etc., it's really good.

* I don't have any Crocs. My super casual slip on Skechers fit that niche for me. Slightly distressed look in case I run into wcc.

I recently got some Dockers flops that are really comfy, too.

* Patti's pork chops and flower pot bread always hit the spot for this guy after a long day on the lake.

* The basement is already framed. I had to make some electrical decisions this morning. I won the battle with Marge for the game room area to be the larger space than her hen cackling table. [banana]

My 2 original blue Rupp Arena chairs (that I paid a Cat's Pause guy $50 for when he dug them out of the dumpster about 16 years ago) are going to be anchored into the wall in the game room area.

The bar is only going to be 7'. Dude is making a cabinet behind it with a sink, fridge and microwave. Putting a brick accent wall behind that.

If I say, "Man Cave, *****!" one more time, Marge may cancel the whole project.

* 4th of July Sales Event time around here. I better act like I'm busy.
