I live in the most Ohio place ever - right in the touching center, surrounded by people going 5 miles under the speed limit and hailing the big ten as the best conference BY FAR in football. We have a relatively ****** southern suburb called Grove City - little low income, and it's referred to as "Grove-tucky". The whole rest of the city, including myself in the high falutin' northern burbs, are able to quickly inform everyone how ****** it is just by cutely naming it something similar to Kentucky. If anyone was neutral in this whole Ohio vs Kentucky battle it's time to pick a side.

-love cincy.

-hate cbus. The people are ugly, boring and have a ridiculously high opinion of themselves. Columbus is the embodiment of the color taupe. No soul, mall culture, Midwest honkys. The kind of folks that refer to things as "classy". I hate Columbus.

Ohio sucks and that’s not up for debate. Kentucky’s lows are likely worse than Ohio’s lows; but, our highs are much higher than Ohio’s.

Ohio is Dilbert, a plain peanut butter sandwich, an even bogey round of golf, a Saturday at work. Ohio is the embodiement of a mediocre life lived with the slow tug of existential dread.

You can't write a sentence describing Columbus without mentioning THE Ohio State University. Dominates discussion unlike anything anywhere. People are obsessed.

Bar tending > a stable nursing job
Bar tending > moving to Tampa with your live in girlfriend to be a nurse again
Bar tending < being a cop

ok

Also I'm sure most departments are just dying to have rookie recruits in their mid-30's.
Most probably aren’t, but KW isn’t most places in that respect.

rogue, for having what you always say is the perfect life, you always seem a little unsettled.
True, I’m always looking to do something different. Leave KY, move to an island, not nursing, parasail mate and then captain, bar tending, moving to Tampa to try it out, moving back to KW, thinking about being a cop. I like all these things and trying new things.

Seems like a cool career but definitely would be a much tougher job than bartending. And like I said, limited vacation time would be tough to get used to. Benies would be nice though.

Weren’t you just posting about sharing stream services to save money? That can’t be too hard to leave behind.
Yes regardless of how much money I make it doesn’t mean I’m not trying to save or wasting money when I don’t have to be. Is that confusing for some reason?

@woodfordandwater Yes the money would be hard to leave, we’ve been over this. I always enjoy people thinking working at a bar means you’re scraping by. Keep thinking that and keep handing me money.

I appreciate everyone’s input serious or not. I just like running things by lots of people.

@Century Cat also I have plenty of great friends that I grew up with in Etown before moving to Lexington for college. A lot of those guys moved back to Etown which is perfectly fine. But for me personally I can’t imagine living there my entire life and never trying somewhere else.

I am constantly looking to get outside of my comfort zone because I think it really contributes to people growing and learning about yourself and just new places.

I do miss being close to my family but I still can visit them anytime I want obviously.

Rogue nobodies reading that, I'm assuming your talking about how great your life is again.

Rudd with the :boxing: words. Columbus is BY FAR the best city in Ohio. Fastest growing, soon to be biggest, best variation of different cultures because of OSU, best food. Clevland and Cincy have nothing comparable to short north (though OTR is getting there). Only things it's missing is a good sports franchise (I'm not into NHL or soccer) but Cincy and clevland and OSU touch that up for us.

Ohio state sucks though and I hate how much people are into it over here.

I’ve had some great times in Columbus and it has a **** ton of young people which is awesome...but Rudd is right about atmosphere and topography. Plus, Ohio Bro is among the worst of the bros.

NorthEast(Philly to NY to Boston) Bro is the easy winner. Not even close really. Plus you have to watch for sucker punches and rohypnol.

Ohio Bro is annoying but fairly harmless much like the rest of the midwest. Texas is the Greatest Bro, Florida Bro and SoCal Sufer Bro are all legit contenders for the top 5.

This is probably correct, but makes his comment ridiculous, as it's not a true "market" price.
I recently bid out a $68MM job and I feel like no subs were trying to buy any future work from me and they definitely weren’t using Rudd’s 77% discount method to win the job. Krazy, you’re doing something right. Daggone.

... by people going 5 miles under the speed limit and hailing the big ten as the best conference BY FAR...

Was in Europe this past week with a young guy who works for me. Kid hails from Columbus and played baseball at Ohio State. Good dude, smart kid, very reasonable.

We rent a car as we needed to head down to France from the Netherlands. First move this guy does is roll into the far left lane on the expressway and go the speed limit. People in Europe have no time for that and every car that pulls up behind us starts flashing its lights. He’d pull over, let them pass, then get back in the left lane.

Ohio kid starts complaining about it. It was like staying to the right except to pass was a foreign concept to him. Oh, and he wouldn’t STFU about the Buckeyes.

First bet I've made on basketball in a long time. $100 on Duke. Feels like a trap but can't believe unc is favored.

Hell, in Key West I'm sure an ex-Murse/Bartender/Cop would manage to take a few shots to the face every night by some horny sailor or drag queen.

We aren't here to judge you, Rogue. Just be careful.

***** stole my post.

I mean, I guess being a cop kind of toughens up the Murse image...maybe some of his “clients” will find it more alluring as well.

Seriously though, that’s a hell of a change in lifestyle. Kudos and thanks for your service.

Bunch of bros down here picked up and moved for a change and have stayed put. Our diving instructor in Cozumel today basically told the exact same story.

When's the last time you saw a Duke team play defense? We're going on at least two seasons. But hey, that's the place to be, future NBA all-stars. The NBA doesn't put a lot of emphasis on defense or anything, you'll be fine.

- More times than not, I root Duke in this matchup but I’m rooting for the Heels in this one.

- Anth all over the bro posts. Nice effort.
