John needs to get his players to stay in school. To hell with players first. That doesn't fulfill the job description. Winning the tournament is hard enough. Having a new team every year makes it harder and really makes what we've done all the more remarkable, but if there was a bit more stability...clearly the resentment folks have towards one & done is directed towards the players, and it's from the top down. Until the rule changes, hold the guys in the program.

The one guy who could win it for Gonzaga rolls an ankle.

Luck matters in tournament runs

-Ref help against Arkansas
-Ref help against UK and still needed a buzzer beater from a little used player
-End of game follies by Oregon
-Meeks hand OoB at the end tonight

UNC's run is unique in how flukish it is.

That sucked watching NC win it all, will only be sweeter when the NCAA strips it from them......oh wait, wont happen

which would be the bigger joke: the NCAA gives UNC no punishment for 2 decades of fake classes or allows UNC to delay process, win this title, and then gives them a one year postseason ban?

National championships since 1978 (which was about when I was old enough to start paying attention):

North Carolina - 5
Duke - 5
UConn - 4
Louisville - 3

Why do I follow this gay sport.

Good to see the guy that stuck a dagger in our heart was regulated back to his irrelevant status.

I knew I should have watched my DVR'd Alaskan Bush People episodes. I would be so much happier right now. I knew the outcome of this tournament the minute Maye hit that shot, after he walked. Game. Set. Match.

Everything else was window dressing and Kennedy Meeks getting treated like MJ in his prime.

Bring on the Masters, and I swear to the sports gods if some jackass golf nerd calls in a penalty this weekend and ruins my 1B sport after the refs ruined my 1A sport...I'm giving up.

Hunting and fishing only, might even work on my primitive survival skills.

I'm just going to start rooting for the Red Sox, Yankees, Patriots, Cowboys and Bama football. We live in a f***ed up world. Living by any sort of code or pursuing any sort of objective morality is for suckers. Expecting anyone to have to answer for anything is the trademark of a born loser. Cheer like a giant ******* for whoever is winning. Embrace practical hedonism. Beat off as much as humanly possible at the expense of interacting with your loved ones. You'll never have to answer for any of it.

Ah well. . . our sixth national championship is old enough to drink.

Sixth? We should be congratulating Roy on his first legitimate title, UNC's fourth.

It must feel great to finally have that monkey off his back and win one without the direct benefit of decades of institutionalized academic fraud.
