$4.8 million/year for Tony Bennett?

Ha. Nice try.

If I were them, I'd offer Bruce Weber $480k and call it a day.

What the f**** is wrong with people.

He's going where Dad goes to coach...Cuonzo is already on the horn, I'm sure. I mean, kid is from COLUMBIA, where he won a state title in 2016 -- Mizzou was one of his finalists to begin with.

His brother (also a Washington commit) can also reclassify and join him, apparently.

Gottleib's biggest fan is Doug Gottleib. No one knows more than him. No one loves the game more than him/his family. And oh, did you know he played?

Dude is the brightest analyst in any given group, though. Very good at what he does. He just seems like an insecure one-upper in ever facet of his life. Those types of personalities don't resonate well.

- Heading up to the Boys Sweet 16 tomorrow. One of our assistants can't make it and I have a solo ticket available in case anyone would be interested. Sit between Cat Paw's very own "Strokin" and a 4 year UK player!

Strokin what do you know about Fern Creek HS? I played high school ball with the coach there and he has done an excellent job making that school respectable. I've heard a few coaches really despise him because he doesn't come out of press and pushing his kids hard up 20 in the 4th quarter.

Wasn't sure if they are thought to have a legit shot or if there is a clear favorite for state this year.

-What would be the O/U between Illinois/Wisconsin with Bennet at the helm? 80.5? Jesus.

-We are just over 2 weeks from nothing being illegal on the streets in Lexington for those magical nights. Havent had a true good once since #2 was dropping game winners 3 years ago.

-The next 20 days could give us possibly the best run in UK history. Strap in.

Good for Skal. He's obviously put in work and gained some confidence. As bad as he was here, I always felt bad for all the crap he took.

Playing against Phoenix with WCS on the floor, how many UK players played in that game?

Never mind, just looked it up. 4 is the answer. Ulis, Booker, WCS and Skal. Bledsoe (coaches decision) and Knight (back spasms) didn't play. Only Skal didn't start but played 30 minutes.

I can't imagine how much fun Booker and Ulis are having starting for the same NBA team. Man, that's just a dream come true for two besties.

Not familiar with Fern Creek's season, krazy.

Lots of folks up there pumped for the Bowling Green v. Scott County matchup on Friday.

That video, and to a degree Skal himself, is the perfect example of why you go pro early if you are projected first round. If you have enough skills and the desire to get better then your game should improve dramatically more so than by staying in college. No time limits, getting the best coaching (maybe debatable) playing night in and night out against the best. Plus you are getting paid. Good for the kid, always felt like he got a raw deal here sometimes

"Friday is the NCAA's 60-day deadline to reply to U of L's response to the NCAA's initial notice of allegations, which was sent in October. Once those documents are filed, the Committee on Infractions typically has 30-to-45 days to review the information submitted by both the NCAA's enforcement staff and the institution before holding a hearing"

His jumper is straight SILK. :fire:

Happy for the kid. Plus, abh (and Chase) was 100% wrong, yet again. Barring injury, he's going to have a long and successful NBA career.

Just another reason Chase is stupid for giving up on SKJ after a year of not even playing. Skilled beanpole 7 footers with untapped potential can take some time.

If you're not KAT or AD by Feb of your freshman year, you suck.

Hell, even super homers like Richie HATED WCS up until the end. I'd kill for even a freshman version of that dude on this team.

I know he's an "across the river" guy, but Romeo Langford is pretty incredible. He'll end up at Kentucky/Duke/Louisville...just not sure where. Seems like a Louisville fit, but New Albany/Louisville have a weird vibe against each other. Who knows.

I hung out with a lot of Bracken County and Pendleton County folks in college. That rivalry always amused me- especially when it got heated and one of the Bracken reds dropped a "flood-F'er" on the PC people. "Y'all are nothing but a bunch of flood-F'ers." That never went over well (see 1997 when all of Falmouth was under water for a week).

Tomlin and his IU insiders seem to think it's more likely than not Crean is back. Ouch.

Gonna be a Joker type situation, if so -- only to start the year. That fanbase is nearly consensus in being done with that guy, even the Crean Super Friends hate him.

They absolutely declined hosting GaTech Tuesday for fear of no crowd and audible venom from the few who would have shown up just to voice their displeasure -- really can't fathom how they would bring him back at this point, but Fred Glass is a proven buffoon.

Check out this kid from Pendleton County. He is a 6'5" sophomore shooting guard. Class of 2019. Already getting interest from Tennessee, Cincinnati, and Western. Rumor is that he may be transferring to Covington Catholic next season. This is the kind of instate kid Cal should offer, even if he does top out in the bottom third of the Rivals 100.

I think Hollingsworth should have gone to UK but he did not wait after getting the WKU offer. However Cal may not have any scholarships if he gets Knox and Bamba

Interesting that there has been a recent rise in "elite" athletic talent locally. Justin Thomas is tearing up the PGA Tour. Romeo Langford is Top 5 in the country in basketball. Jordon Adell could be a MLB 1st Round pick in baseball out of Ballard. Jairus Brents from Waggener has offers from just about everyone in the country in football. DeVante Parker was a 1st Round NFL pick. Pretty cool to see.

Good call by Indiana keeping Crean when their best in-state prospect in 5 years is going into his senior year.

Big men typically progress much slower than most. ****, look at Bam and the progress he's made. He's finally turning a corner and it's March. He abused Moses Kingsley last Saturday. He's now executing the fake one way turn the other shoulder mini hook right now. Think Bam is just scratching the surface. He's still so raw yet has shown flashes here and there including a face up jumper.

Really happy for Skal. Really liked his story. You could see with his skill set that he would eventually break through despite his struggles last year. That jumper and his finesse skill game are money. Hope he crushes it.

Yep. Why you've been so patient with Humphries iirc.

If this year hasn't convinced Cal that it's useful to have some KENTUCKY BOYS on the roster, nothing ever will. It just means ... more to them. I remember several folks on here begging him to give Dom a scholly and I'll bet he's thankful he did.

You absolutely cannot win at a high level with 12 Kentucky kids on scholarship. There's pretty much no one left who actually believes that you can. I do think there is value in cherry picking 2-3 kids over a four year period to have on the roster to maintain continuity and demonstrate what exactly it means to play here to the revolving door of superstars that come through here. No way Hawkins hasn't made Monk and Fox better players this season just by the example he sets on and off the court. That has value.

Comparing Bam's base skillet to that Humprhries is apples and oranges. Comparing Harrellson to Humphries is also off base. Harrellson was a much better athlete who had 3 point range. He had to get in shape and get serious. Think Humphries will improve some here and there but the margin of improvement will be minimal.
