At trivia tonight we had a question, how many titles combined do U.K. UCLA UNC Duke and UCONN have.

I looked it up though and Wikipedia said the UNC title from '24 was retroactively made into an NCAA title. Is that correct or just some UNC bs?

This is the very issue over which I got into a bar argument in San Antonio after the Saturday games in 1998, in which a UNC fan tried to tell me they had 4 (at that time), and resulted in the research that turned into a 150 question Quiz that displays the Facts Behind the Myth that is UNC basketball.

UNC fans are indoctrinated to believe the 1924 title is real, at a very young age. But it's nothing more than a Helms, which they claim as a "national" (READ: NOT NCAA) title.

Also, did you know that the Helms title was named after a bakery, which sponsored the whole thing, and for most of its existence, the "Helms committee" consisted of one dude retroactively handing out "national titles"?

I could go on forever, but go to Jon Scott's site for more info on all of this.*
*And then go back to being a ***.

Counterpoint: Bakeries are unquestionably dope as hell. Never seen a bad one. The NCAA is pure garbage run by hundreds, maybe thousands of idiots. Mr. Helms doesn't sound so bad to me.

UNC's response to the most recent NOA, which includes men's basketball and football has now been delayed yet again.

Debbie Crowder, an administrator behind the fake classes who has refused to cooperate for years has now said she wants to talk, however she is claiming that the classes were not fake and not geared towards athletes....of which the NCAA already determined in their NOA.

So this thing is at least another year away.....AGAIN

I am sure the payment came through to Crowder to help delay

Chad accepting my invite was the upset of the year. [cheers]

Better brush up on your CBB name game skills bub, could be a bad day for you.

-That little Jr. Robinson kid was like a mini-Ulis...even looked/talked like him post game. Impressive kid.

-#iubb was a few NIT wins away from Crean being back, imo. What a shame.

-Noted winter ball, but this weather can get pumped. March Madness is supposed to be about Tshirts, half days at work, beer, and patios. I could deal with some 50s or whatever, the SEC weather was actually very pleasant, but It's the coldest it's been ALL YEAR. [eyeroll]

-Scare with my JRT Gillie yesterday, he was overnight a completely different dog. Didn't know where he was, sitting in a corner staring at the wall, didn't care about birds/etc in the yard, terrified of any sounds, wouldn't run or jump...and didn't even acknowledge the other dogs at the vet, when normally he acts like a complete lunatic. Read online about sudden onset cognitive dysfunction (basically, dementia) happening with them on occasion, literally overnight. Was 100% convinced that's what it was, but Dr. thinks he may have a mild slipped disk and it's just the pain causing these things? I'm not sold on that conclusion, but I sure hope that's all it is, he's too young (8 or 9) to have any neurological issues, that would crush me. Dude is my best bud.

I feel terrible about my bracket every single year, no matter what. And I'm usually correct in feeling terrible about it.

No

The '98 run was so memorable in so many ways -- that particular group + all the comebacks + making the Duke game worth so much more.

That's a stupid question, and you're very weird for thinking to ask it.
The question was posed to me last night. I kept rationalizing that Majerus (loved that guy) would have Lute's title and Turner, D.A., and Mercer would have 2 rings. But I think your point (and Pitino having 3 titles) changes my mind.
