Saw a blip on Dateline's FB about the 'Up and Vanished' Podcast that's apparently led to a few arrests in some Hot Girl's Murder from many years ago, anyone listened?

Yep. I listened to the first 12 episodes, and will knock out the rest shortly. It's pretty good. I saw one of those ID shows ("The Nightmare Next Door" or some such nonsense) on this case a few months ago.

On a big true crime podcast kick right now. Best two I've heard so far are "Sword & Scale" and "Stranglers."

I just officially entered my first Bracket Challenge of the year. It's organized by some business associates up in Shreveport.

Old school.

Paper entry. Hand written. Mail it in. Manually scored. Red pen for losers. Green pen for winners.

How it should be, imo.
That's how my dad ran the pool at his work and was the first bracket pool I was ever in.

This is all well and good until your wife mistakenly trashes the folder with the brackets after the Championship Game....

...which also had an envelope with the cash buy-ins. :chairshot:

I've never done the Team Bryant bracket because I don't know how to make payment. I don't care, @ me!

But I want to do it so, seriously. What do I need to do? Post my debit card digits here? Can I write check?

Obviously using Yahoo/CBS/ESPN/etc is a million times easier, but part of the fun of the NCAA tournament was scoring the brackets. Going line by line and reminiscing on the buzzer beaters. Agonizing how in the hell you didn't pick that 14-over-a-3 when it was soooo obvious. Walking around with that piece of paper for 3 weeks, all folded up in your pocket.

You have to fill out at least one paper bracket nowadays, even if it's just for fun. Absolutely have to.

***It's official--Baby #2 due in October. Low key summer for this guy.

-Surprising the SEC had 8 teams in the Ken Pom top 55 in Def Efficiency.

South Car 88.5 3
Florida 89.5 4
Kentucky 91.9 9
Alabama 91.9 10
Georgia 95.9 37
Vanderbilt 96.1 41
Texas A&M 97.5 52
Tennessee 97.7 55

-If anyone heard Coach COW call in show last night the dude sounds like he knows this team is about to fly

I'm no KenPomBall but could it just mean that many SEC teams suck at offense and, thus, look really great defensively against one another?

Or it could mean everyone is devaluing the SEC on perception when the #'s prove otherwise.

The offensive #'s for the league aren't bad either

KY-14
Florida-24
Arkansas-26
Vandy-48
Auburn-54
Miss-70

The SEC went toe-to-toe with the Big 12 - everyone's second toughest conference - earlier this year. The league definitely wasn't as bad as people think, and that's reflected in the tourney seeding - USC got a 7, Vandy got a 9, and Florida got a 4.

I will NEVER forgot Mumme's first year at CW and Fred was just off the Blue Lot with a WLKY group, of course most decked out in Louisville gear including himself. They had a gigantic inflatable Cardinal Head and my dad's buddy (a real snarky *******) kept unplugging it from the generator.

After about the third time it went crashing to the grass Cowgill run towards him and says "YOU UNPLUG THAT AGAIN AND WE ARE GOING TO HAVE ISSUES"

Of course he unplugged it again and CowGIRL did nothing but stomp away and start running his mouth about how low class fans KY were and to talk after the game when Louisville romps Kentucky.

Of course after the game the whole crew was no where to be found

F*k Northwestern and all the arrogant mediaballs that are jerking each other off over their cherry popping bid. They can't be sent packing fast enough.

Fully expecting Vandy to do what Vandy does best and get crushed by double digits, thus prolonging this media orgy :chairshot:

I hate the SEC, but mainly because the teams do nothing but try to make games as ****** and physical as possible. I kinda think that helps us tbh, because we're used to grind-it-out awful basketball. We'll have at least one of those games in this tourney. I don't think USC or Arkansas will do a damn thing, but it wouldn't surprise me if Florida or Vandy make it to next weekend.
