I think the issue with Fox is just how much time he has missed at this point. I bet he hasn't had two straight weeks of practice in 2017. Just like Maverick in Top Gun, just keep sending him out there. Eventually things will start clicking again.

Probably. I hope it is just rust and not coaches figuring him out.

Also, Maverick had waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better hair.

UKO attempted to troll on Twitter after our win (per usual), so I smacked him around (per usual)

His account is now deleted for the 72nd time. [laughing]

What a psycho. His entire online existence is based on trolling, but he can't take it. Biggest mental ***** I've ever met. Needs legit help.

I usually hate the ESPN comments "calamari is a cheat!!1" but loved how literally all of them brought up the different Kentucky/Kansas narrative.

The problem with the Top Gun analogy is that you could also make the case that Fox looks more like Goose's dead corpse more often than not. Definitely not the cocky ace who was picking off bogies left and right early in the year. #teethchomp #greatballsoffire

Re: Would your wife go insane if another woman was exerting a casual Kellyanne Conway pose in your office? My wife would smother me in my sleep, or worse. I got a *stern* talking to some time ago for liking an instagram post of a girl I used to date YEARS ago. I've seen her do facebook research on girls on the roster of classes im teaching (full disclosure I started dating her when she was in a history class I was teaching). There are all kinds of examples of subtle insanity- but its definitely there.

I bet Willis wedding reception is going to be red as hell. Obviously his family is south of south end but I have a feeling the girls family cuts. it. loose. Throw in the Palumbo's... man. Could be a good one to hit, for sure.

What has happened to Gabriel? CoolCat may be right. Maybe time to just make Mulder Willis' backup.

I don't know if it was rust or that he was wearing 45. It's like Superman coming back with a giant L on his chest.

Gabriel still hasn't gotten a clean shot off that wasn't a layup or a 3 pointer...all season. He's just not ready, which is okay. Could be a nice 2-3 year guy for us.

Willis is better than him at EVERYTHING, even defense & rebounding. Hopefully he continues to see the lion's share of minutes.

-Did Mulder get hurt or something? That was just bizarre to watch him finally break our drought with a 3, followed by a top 5 aggressive drive to the rim of the SEASON for this team...then not see the floor again?????

-Briscoe was outstanding last night. THAT is his role.

3-6 Field goals.
7 rebounds
6 assists
0 Turnovers

Just being a utility man, focusing on distributing & general playmaking, and finishing when the opportunity is there.

Per KSR:
"After the game, Calipari said he apologized Mulder for the limited minutes, but he went with a defensive-minded lineup over offense “I said the way the game went, Mychal, I just stuck with those guys, because it wasn’t about offense. It was going to be about fight. And he’ll fight, but Dom has an advantage in that.”

Used defense as an excuse.

Kentucky shot 58% with 1 turnover in second half. That is efficient folks.

More of that please.

Kentucky now with 7 wins against the RPI top 50. 2 wins against the RPI top 25. Arkansas (w) is currently at 28 is at Florida tonight (4). Need a Razorback win.

So how would you alter the minutes breakdown? From last night:

Bam 37, Humphries 3
Willis 28, Gabriel 12
Monk 35, Briscoe 31, Fox 26, Hawkins 21, Mulder 7

Maybe give Mulder some of Gabriel's time or Hawkins'? Hope Fox gets it back together and takes some those minutes by force?

It's not the statement itself as it is the dopey PA announcer and his previously stated whackass inflection trying to make it sound AMAZING.

What NBA player is a good comparison to Malik Monk?

Depending on need in the upcoming draft I understand a case for Jackson or Ball, but Monk would easily be #1 pick to me.

I hate when he is smiling as we lose, like at UF, but I'll never remember that in a few years. I will remember that BAMF carrying us and willing us to several victories almost by himself.

The game last night was really good for the kiddos, IMO. They need as many ugly grinders as possible before the real deal. Vandy has been playing extremely well and they ran their **** equally well, forcing us to guard the full 30. Really excited with Bam coming on late. He's an excellent rim runner and he's grabbing rebounds outside his area now, which is a great sign he's becoming more comfortable out there.

Felt like Willis had more than 3 blocks?

It's a situational thing with the minutes. Last night, for instance, the situation was Gabriel (and everyone else for the first 12 minutes) was putrid and Mulder was giving us much needed offense. So Mulder should have played more of those minutes. But Gabriel is a lockdown defender ([eyeroll]) so I guess we can't afford to play Mulder over him.

Exactly. Cal loves to talk about 'fight'...Mulder gets his nose in there and 'fights' as well as anyone on the team. He tries to get every rebound there is, and always has.

He's not a great (or even good) defender, but neither are the guys playing all his minutes.

HOME OF THE GREEEEATEST TRADITION IN THE HISTORY OF COLLEGE BASKETBALL

[sick]

I've always found it a little clumsy myself.

Would prefer "Home to the all-time winningest program in college basketball " or "to your 8-time national champion Kentucky Wildcats."

I don't like announcing the Erupption Zone either. Hokey.

Love the pregame video showing the history of UK basketball and the pregame overall.

* Malik Monk reminds me of Dan Majerle, actually.

* I hate games like last night, where you end up pissed off after a win. 38 minutes of "f this team," followed by 2 minutes of "it's about f'ing time."

* Gabriel fancying himself as a 3-point specialist is 100% on John Calipari. Why in TF does he allow that?? With his size/length/athleticism, he should be all over the court, and his outside shot should just be a nice addition to his game. I've never understood why coaches allow players to do that.

* Shameful admission --> I just signed up for Amazon Prime last week.

* Game in Rupp was incredible on Saturday, and Big Ups to Little A for the tickets. Took Black Mike and his brother Euge. Bumped into lots of folks, including Cclark. Also had a great conversation with BBdK's dad and uncle. Spent some time making fun of him for bailing on the game. Uncle Ben is a freaking riot. That guy is so die hard, and so positive it's crazy. Rarely misses a game, football or basketball. Always sees the silver lining. Hanging with those two makes me extremely jealous of some of you that grew up in hardcore UK sports families, which I did not. I can't imagine being surrounded by such UK enthusiasm all the time.

* Yesterday was Fat Tuesday, for those of you who missed it. Fantastic day with 80-degree, sunny weather. Started the day with the 37 year-old Rex Royal Run in Audubon Park. Hit the gym for a yoga sesh. Caught the end of the parades. Rocked a hard day buzz. A little late-day nap, then up for UberEats and the Cats game.

* The faux Conway-Trump controversy --> we're talking about a vapid waste of space who came to the states to ***** herself out as a fashion model, and shamelessly devoted her life to a disgusting old man twice her age. Yeah, I'll bet he's sleeping on the couch this week after that episode!! [eyeroll]

* So, what are you losers giving up for Lent?

You can pretty much tell if Gabriel should play during the first two minutes he's in the game. If he hits a 3 or gets a rebound and put back, he can play awhile. If he doesn't, Marcus go ahead and sit him the entire night.
