Ohio had 48 P5 signees.

Plus a shitload of MAC, Navy, Cincinnati, etc.

Why in the hell did we ignore our neighbor to the north all of these years? Mind bogglingly stupid and lazy.

I know people like fylm insisted we could never recruit well there. Did our coaching staffs believe that, too?

We should hire Joker back just to fire him again.

My bad, Clark.

Been on edge recently. Mid winter funk. Happens every year in late January early February. KAYTS not playing well doesn't help and only makes me pissier.

In 2007, 2008, and 2009, we signed 1 Player from Ohio...2 Star Chandler Burden. [laughing]

In 2010, we signed 4 Star Alex Smith...knucklehead...and 2 nobodies. Nobody from Ohio in 2011.

That's pretty shameful when you look back at it. Almost malpractice.

-Don't mess with penguins. Feisty.

-Just excited to have a returner that can break off some nice plays.

-Even in our best class ever we're still 26-35th in rankings and 11th in SEC. Reason he has to keep some guys like Schlarman around. The real benefit is bringing top 30 classes in and not having to play 75% of them in the SEC as true Frosh.

-Morning starting out swell.

Pretty much. Inlaws skipped out of town and dropped off their little furry princess for us to watch until next week. She, of course, has to sleep in the bed, same for our pain in the *** dog. Then around 1:00 am the little one demanded entry so I just laid there working on my imminent mid-life crisis with about 6" of room and my head on the nightstand until dawn. :fire::fire::fire:

Penguins are bitches, and habitually line-step and go below the belt with personal shots, in my experience.

I'm all for extinction.

-Our dogs are no longer allowed in our bed (or bedroom) at the new crib thanks to our incontinent little Murphy, and I miss it.

I'm a hardwood guy, and our house 90% is -- but fancy padded carpet in the bedroom is mighty cozy, I must admit.

Greatest era of UK football with the Bear made a living off a kids from Ohio and Pennsylvania. Then the state legislature came up with the silly *** 50% of the scholarships have to go to instate athletes and it's like UK football forgot Ohio existed anymore until now

Bam nearly out of Ford's 1st Round.

6. Malik Monk (Previous Rank: 4)
10. De’Aaron Fox (Previous Rank: 9)
27. Bam Adebayo (Previous Rank: 18)

“Monk is the best pure scorer on the board,” Ford writes. “His deep range and explosive athleticism are a rare combination. But he can be streaky and doesn’t always bring enough other strengths to the table to move ahead of the players in front of him. If he were a couple of inches taller, or a pure point guard, he’d have a strong claim on the No. 1 pick.”

Ford says De’Aaron Fox is the quickest point guard in the draft, but concerns about his jump shot keep him behind Markelle Fultz, Lonzo Ball, and Dennis Smith for now. Meanwhile, Bam slipped nine spots to #27.

“He’s strong, bouncy and a fierce dunker. However, his inconsistency and so-so rebounding give scouts pause. One NBA exec compared him to Florida’s Patric Young; he looks the part, but doesn’t always play the part.”

Fultz, Ball, Jackson, Smith, Isaac -- The Top 5.

At 41.2%, he's 9th in the SEC in 3 point percentage, ahead of white guys such as Cullen Neal, Derek Willis, Luke Kornet, Canyon Barry and Dusty Hannahs.
His issue is shot selection. He's like 15-20% points higher shootings 3's in half court vs. in transition.

My wife does that. I hate it. Nothing good ever comes after the long soooooooo. Usually a discussion about something she wants me to do or how we're not living like Tibetan Monks as I have spent too much money on some basic expense like eating out for lunch.

Agree with Booker, but the whole 'streaky' narrative is lazy and stupid. It's typically the first "but" you hear about him, and it shouldn't be. Those should be his willingness to 'settle' for deep contested jumpers at times, and tendency to disappear for stretches and not stay engaged (on both ends) -- but that's also normal for an 18 year old Freshman.

When you're 20+ games into the season and shooting 41% from deep as a marked man, you're not streaky. Sure, he's had a few clunker games -- what volume shooters don't? [eyeroll] Dude is a pure shooter.

^ exactly. Redick's # was attributed to the amount of tough shots he took flying off screens, which is the same with Monk. Main difference is Monk is black and an insane athlete, so 'streaky' is the common lazy term to throw in.

Great athletes aren't supposed to be pure shooters, which is what really separates Monk from so many others.

JJ Reddick the zomg greatest college shooter of all time!!!! shot 39% from 3 as a freshman. I don't ever recall the term streaky used with him.
He's white. Willis is pretty streaky. But he is also white so we can't call him streaky.

- The Patric Young comment is ********. Frankly, behind sportswriters, "scouts" are the most self absorbed douchebags out there.

Bam's rebounding has disappointed me but he's 19 and his offense, including J, is more advanced than I first thought. He shouldn't and won't fall below 17.

- Bachelor party thoughts? I don't need much. My buddies will provide entertainment no matter where we go. Figure it needs to be two nights out of town to allow all the married dads coming to spread their wings a bit. A gambling aspect is a benefit but I don't want a pure casino atmosphere. I also want it to be accessible and somewhat affordable so as many of my buddies as possible can be there. Also a good strip club is necessary.

Honestly, leaning toward an April Lexington weekend trip with a Saturday Keeneland trip.

Norlander was saying the numbers say Monk shoots better when guarded than when open. Wouldn't surprise me.

Lots of shooters prefer a hand in the face, for sure.

I'm more referring to those 6-7 side to side dribbles for 5 seconds and fade away 25 footer (settling) when he's felt he hasn't gotten one off in a bit.

Briscoe is an all time college great, those don't always translate to the next level. He reminds me of Doron Lamb.

-Eric Bledsoe has put up 40+ in 3 of his last 6 games, lol. Will never come to grips with how good he is in the NBA.
