Bad luck continues:
Not only do I have 4 of 5 starters currently in street clothes due to injury, my car got side-swiped in the gym parking lot the other night while I was putting the scouting report up on the board. Nothing like getting that news right before a district game. Good times, gang.
- Here are some things you basketball-heads can look for from Florida. Expect a high number of side ball screens with a big picking a guard. If the guard doesn't attack, they'll swing it to the other "versatile" big at the top of the key and look for the hi-lo with the ball screening big rolling to the basket. If we switch everything Saturday, that hi-lo will wear us out. If we hedge and recover, or trap the ball screens, we might have better success. But rest assured, you will see a ton of ball screens! Big test.
The UF game will be the biggest defensive test we've had since UCLA. Not because of their explosiveness/efficiency, but because of their style of play. They are a continuity ball screen offense and we are terrible defending that.
The USC game was the biggest offensive test I thought the Cats would have throughout conference play and they passed that one. Win at UF and I'll have lots more optimism going forward.
