All the highest ranked recruits are signing early, which seems to be unusual for UK football - secretly hoping Stoops had them do that to show Willis and Davis that this class is legit and to join it

Bowden and Paschal are in. Paschal picked us over Notre Dame and Penn State. All 4-star commits have sent their LOI's.

- Look, we're in a mid season funk as it is. We're starting four freshmen. And we lose our best, most important player to illness. We fight back down 14, send it to OT at the horn and then man up in OT. These dudes aren't machines. It's a libg season. Funks and slumps happen. We grinded out a W.

- But...the interior defense and ball pressure was pathetic and it's become a thing. We really need our four guards to become elite defenders- individually and team- and help our bigs out.

- For all the "Cal doesn't get shooters" stuff- Booker, Murray and Monk in consecutive classes. Wow. I don't know who's the best out of those three.

- You really want to pump me up, Cats? Go get this one on Saturday. That will get my attention.

- I think if Booker had averaged 30-35 minutes a game like Monk or Murray and been able to be subbed normally, he would be the pick. I know his attempts and percentage aren't as good, but I think that would have worked itself out had he been able to get up the volume the other two did/do. Hurts me to say that since rax does nothing but worship him, but that's jmo.

- Bowden in the wildcat with Snell is a problem for just about every defense we could possible face next year.

- Javonte Richardson is a top 100 player with damn near identical measureables to Alshon Jeffrey. Dude will be a freak if we get consistent QB play

What was up with Dan Wolken last night thinking Monk has a low ceiling? Did he not watch that performance last night?

I love Monk, he's unreal -- ask my wife about my hooting, hollering, and over-the-top hyping of the kid's game...including last night when he was going bonkers.

Thank Jerry & Anth mostly for my Monk posts, which will continue so long as I get TAUNTED ad-nauseam during a damn Kentucky basketball game, about my own team. With Abh, it's been happening for years...but Anth is a new addition.

It's annoying AF. I compare it to '73's special ability to make you dislike someone you actually like. To a lessor extent, GYERO hyper-analyzing EVERY SINGLE PLAY Briscoe (and Willis, and Humphries, and Hawkins...) make

We all ***** about players, especially when they deserve it, and he has deserved quite a bit -- but it's out of control with a few of our guys and has been building all year long. Every single play is a bit much, and that's truly what is happening.

Touching Briscoe had 21/11/8, and reading this thread you'd think it was Saul Smith or Michael Porter out there. Stats rarely tell the entire story, and he's definitely not playing as good as the stats may say -- but kid is playing is *** off through a funk and still contributing HEAVILY to our team, especially on a night playing out of position with our Star PG out. He had some turnovers and ****** plays, as did everyone else. Then you have Bam out there scolding him while he's doing JACK ****. [eyeroll]

So, as long as that keeps happening in here and I keep getting 100+ texts per game taunting me about my own team, I'm gonna post about every single negative Monk play, and there are lots of them (while secretly celebrating his good ones).

It's going to be VERY annoying, I promise -- So enjoy, I guess.

Most of us do -- but a few people have it out for a certain player, while giving others a pass, and I'm not gonna stand for it any longer. I'm an equal opportunity hater, and that's not what's happening. Our TEAM has basically been **** for a month now, plenty of blame to go around, and I'm here to make sure that gets distributed. :fire:

Again, it's much more about my phone blowing up with taunts about my own team during every game. Like I said, blame it on my friends. We're a team here, so everyone pays for others mistakes, which may be unfair, but that's okay.

Here my Cal Starting 5:

PG - John Wall
SG - Malik Monk
SF - Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
PF - Anthony Davis
C - Demarcus Cousins

Good luck with your "cute" teams.

Just like my 'cute' preseason take last year that you threw a fit over that "Ulis and Booker would have been my favorite backcourt of all time."

...and Ulis goes on to become a rare consensus 1st Team AA here & Cousy award winner -- while Booker puts on a show in the NBA. Definitely a horrible take -- in hindsight, I would have HATED that backcourt. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

BBdK Cute Cal Team:

Ulis
Booker
MKG
Davis
Cousins

(really have a hard time w/ Cousins vs Towns, probably be different tomorrow)

I can buy into the Towns over Gilchrist argument....kind of. Gilchrist was such a badass when he was here though. That block vs. Kansas was freaky. And he is the "glue" guy.

Let's just make Towns the 6th man, with Ulis and Booker coming off the bench. I think that Top 8 is consensus.

Think you may want to go review the texts from me. I rarely text and almost never post during games. Last night was by far the most... ever. Have no idea how you sent 60 texts and 20 posts during game play and still watch.

MKG is the perfect guy on a team with 4 other stars/scorers, so I'd leave him for sure.

:joy: I can assure you, as Anth will, this is not how it went at all. Anth made claims about Monk being is favorite ever possibly early in the year and you of course went nuts on him and called out Monk in every single text thread the first month of the season. It became so annoying, so we decided to pick on your favorite player Briscoe and it pissed you off because you can dish it out but you cant take it. Anth will vouch for this.

And like Chad alluded to last night, anyone that likes Briscoes game and has him as their favorite player is a weirdo.

Lol, No. How it went was ABH calling him racist names every 3 minutes, wishing an ACL tear, etc...

...you know, the usual. I mean, I can post them if you really wanna play that game.

Lemme know.

^ it's exactly how it started, just texted you the 1st 4 texts of the game...all from ABH doing his typical routine.

Let's go. We can take turns posting our favorite screenshots from last night. Need Jerry's permission first, as to protect the integrity of the super secret text thread -- but if he's cool with this little game, I'm all in. :100points:

GYERO would enjoy, I promise. Let me know.
